Indeed, I wonder if it would have let me if you hadn't replied before I got a chance.
There is definitely no delete option on post #1 in this thread now.
Thanks for the help but now I will never know if it could have been done if the opening post was the only one in the thread and now I'm too scared too try again :facepalm:

Only Mods can delete threads. You can delete your own posts - provided of course that it's not a new thread.

PM a Mod to get a thread deleted.
