Not gruesome but the result is obvious, and from the report that accompanied the video the pedestrian was killed. Biker ran the red light at speed and clipped a turning vehicle.

Holy crap. One minute you're minding your own business walking across a gigantic zebra crossing and the next minute you're dead :gob:

That would account for the lack of interest by pedestrians.
Pretty sad state.

In what kind of country does nobody check on the injured person lying in the middle of the road :shit:

It's a psychological phenomenon called the bystander effect, the more people there are present at an occurrence like this, the lower the likelihood is of any one person lending assistance.

What are the odds of being pwned by a bike you're not even riding.

My reaction, too, was "wow, so much for anyone taking a concern in the poor pedestrian lying motionless on the crossing!". Subsequent posts might explain that, but I still couldn't believe the vehicles still going through the crossing while the body lay there.

Probably too worried about being sued if the assistance they gave him made his injuries worse...

That is correct - advice given in the USA is to not provide any first aid unless you are medically qualified to do so. Very different to here where providing help and first aid is expected.

Incredible. Such a sorry, social comment. Shame on us all for allowing some societies to prevent the decent human in all of us from responding to this situation as we should, for fear of being sued!
Fairly obvious the outcome, where is the decent human that made the effort to comfort the critically injured person. Who thought Fuckit! and rushed to the aid of the pedestrian, we cant see the biker in the clip, but no doubt the same thing is happening there.
Shame, shame shame.
That shame is also to the biker that created this horrible situation. WTF (Where the fuck) was his brain?????

I stopped for a major car accident I saw happen behind me in my mirrors. By the time I had pulled up onto the footpath, taken helmet and gear off, secured helmet and gear then walked back up the road to the crash there would have been a dozen people at that accident - pedestrians and people who had come out of their houses. They were all just standing on the footpath staring. I was the first one on the phone to 111, there was even somebody standing there texting while having a gawk. I also distinctly remember hearing someone in the crowd say "Somebody should call 911".

It's in America, and it was a guy. And he died at hospital. Otherwise, you were right on the money.

At about 35s a guy walks into view and removes his helmet, and is seen to be wandering around in either shock or disbelief.

Here ya go.
Motorcyclist crashes into car and directly hits a crossing pedestrian. Very sad.
Tarpon Springs, Florida, USA: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 -- no, people of the internet - this did NOT happen in St. Petersburg, Russia...
A Holiday man walking along a road was killed Monday evening by a motorcycle flipping from another collision, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Richard K. Dickens, 53, died.
Luz M. Quiles, 73, of Holiday was driving a 1990 Toyota east on Louis Avenue and trying to turn left at Lucas Street.
At the same time, a Suzuki motorcycle traveling over the speed limit was passing slower vehicles on Louis Avenue from the westbound lane.
The motorcyclist, Joshua H. Cross, 20, of Tarpon Springs, collided with the left front portion of the Toyota as it attempted the left turn.
The impact flipped the motorcycle several times, sending it toward the north shoulder. That's where it hit Dickens, who died at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs.
Cross' injuries were serious. Quiles suffered minor injuries.
Charges are pending.
No further information was released.

but I still couldn't believe the vehicles still going through the crossing while the body lay there.
I've been at an accident with people lying on the road and car drivers demanding they be carried off the road so they could continue their journey .. even after explaining that moving them could kill them or do more damage the drivers had to be restrained from picking up people and moving them ...
I've also seen, at an accident, a car try to push past a cop standing in the middle of the road in front of a car with a torch and clearly indicating STOP! The cop had her hands on the bonnet of the car and the driver just kept rolling ... finally the cop, in desparation, reached in the window, turned off the car and pulled the key out ...
Some people are just unbelievable ..
