Kanny thinks another newby/relaxed adv ride around the Raglan/Kawhia/hinterland is just about due.:scooter:
The type of ride that gets the less hardcore people interested. The type where scramblers, TDM's, xers CB250RS etc can enjoy at leisurely speeds, knowing other more experienced guys/gals are there to help if need be.
DR250's XT250's Bloody huge bimmers etc etc.
Two day event, accom to be decided on, but camp/doss at chez tri boys, maybe kanny's uncles bach, maybe Kopua camp ground at Raglan.
The regular, bunch of misfits will be required also for entertainment and poking the stick at.
Dates and ride to event drivvle may start............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....................................

How would mid, to late Nov, or even the first w/end in Dec fit with most people?
Oh, and there is a distinct possibily that an excursion onto a secret project base will be included.
Can't say too much, but it would be worth doing the ride for this alone:shifty:
My early thoughts on accom, lends towards Kopua camp ground.
Cheap, varying accom, and is centred in the riding zone. BBQ/ pub food/ and walking distance to shops makes it a good base.

I presume KTM's with wide asses are welcome?
All sounds very good, late November would be my pick (hopefully it will have stopped raining by then). I bags to be a stick poker and not a pokee!

Bugger, a friends wedding just filled the last free weekend in Nov. So please, while you are merrily pootling around the Kawhia backroads, spare a thought for those of us who are less fortunate as we will be hooning around the bush at Minginui/sipping champers by the lake at Okareka/cruising the Molesworth/racing down the beach at the Burt Munro.

Can't be fagged doing a poll, (maybe a Swede, or Spanish), so the weekend ride dates to choose from are:
Last w/end in Nov, 26-27-28th,
First w/end in Dec 3rd-4th-5th.
I'm leaning towards the Dec date, as the national classic show n rally is on in New Plymouth on the Nov date, and kanny wants to drool over old sickles.
What say you lot?
I'll just count up the replies, scull some booze, then choose. (heh, that rhymes).
Further ride route details will get thrashed out after the date is chosen.:sunny:

December 4 / 5 Would be good for me. Raglan camp ground would make a great base.
Pretty sure i can Get Suzi Girl out on her wee bike at that time of the year, so that will turn me into a nana rider ( at least for the first 2 hours anyway ) :devil2:

Started counting, then got confused after three votes.
Removed boots and socks to count with toes. The smell knocked me out, came back around, lost count, removed two toes with meat cleever to help with subtraction formula, passed out, came around again.
Looked at Miss December on the calendar, passed out, made a decision.
The ride will follow a similar organisational formula.
Calendar thingie will be started after I sew my toes back on.
Kanny's in ChCh, so this could take a while.
