So are you after total loss, which involves running a battery but no charging system, or running without a battery at all?

Hi
on our GL145's we run no battery,
from the magneto we use the black and white wire, run it to the points and coil.
then run the kill switch which earths those wires to turn it off.

I am not familiar with CG wiring so dont take my wiring advice as gospel

On my wifes CB100 I could not use the magneto cause apparently somthing about using ac current or dc current cant remember which but wouldn't produce a reliable spark more then once every 10 kicks so I had to use a battery.

Hope this helps a little

i always run a battery eliminator on any kick start bikes I have, saves weight and no more worrying about charging etc
