Looks like its still a toss up - getting back to choosing which bike you want for your type of riding.

For me the 450 is a waste of power and wheelspin, I'd be fighting it all day.
The 250 would be a great machine but it says you can't get lazy on it?
So I guess if I bought a 4 stroke I'd have to be a 350 for many of the same reasons I bought the 200 instead of a CR250 or 300exc or 450 4stroke?

Guess I'll stick to the 2hundy until they do direct injection or something??

Each to their own! I just thought the article would be interesting to you guys
Happy reading!

I was lucky enough to have a work ride day a few weeks ago and had a few demo bikes there.

CRF250R - my bike, good all rounder,
CRF450R - too much power, would lift the front wheel and when I binned it on a hill it was a mission to get it back upright and running
YZF250 - similar to my bike, couldn't notice anything overly different
350SXF - awesome. Felt as light as my 250R but with a noticeable increase in power while having very smooth but quick power delivery.

If I had the money I'd have a 350SXF but for it would be hard to ever justify buying a brand new bike. Also the 350SXF has a bit of a waiting list due its popularity.

If your racing a 250 you wouldn't want to be lazy on it, just like any machine you need to keep it in the power.

But for trail riding a 250F has plenty of torque to pull you out of most situations through out the rev range , even if not in the right gear.

why not the 250sxf, or the 400exc?

why not the 250sxf, or the 400exc?

Out of all the bikes I've ridden Rupes 250 was the best I have ridden re weight Vs power! I still like my exc but if I had to buy a 4stroke a CRF or KXF250 would certainly be in my list to try as well as a 350!

I was talking to a mate at Ardmore toady, he's got a new YZF450 he love's it, power everywhere.
he came from a CR250.

If Cairoli was still riding a Yamaha, I think he would still have won the FIM world champs.

If I had the money, Id go with a 450 as it sounds better when people ask me what I ride, 450 sound better that 250 or 350, the people I know don't know much about bikes, they know 450 is big so it must be better

Id never be able to ride it to its full, but hell i can't ride the WR to its full potential
Its all about the bling factor bigger is better hehe.

Taking a serious amount of inner strength, but I'm saving it for next weekend. My first ever brand spankers bike, I just want it admire it's newness for a week, then I'll go throw it at some dirt.
