WOW!

Thats some amazing engineering!, always good to see people thinking outside of the box.
Don't know about reliability?...but damn thats coool! :woohoo:

Hope he gets its finished and posts some videos....the sound WOULD be awesome!

....of course the 1955 guzzi V8 will always be the king of over-engineering feats...but Im biased! lol

Very nice, but have you seen or heard the 500 V8 sitting in a Christchurch shed?

Now that is one work of art.

Sitting or fallen on the floor?

Genius. I would assume that the pistons would fire on the downward and upward stroke of the con rod making for a very smooth running V-twin X 4

Wide though, be a bitch to lean into a corner.

Wide though, be a bitch to lean into a corner.

It's actually no wider than a 900SS (it's in a standard 900SS frame) apart from the width of the cylinders, the crankcase is basically standard and it uses the standard 900SS crankshaft, if you click on the link you'll see how the builder achieved this ingenious feat.
Not sure if the performance would be that fantastic, I think it's more of a 'because I could' type project.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but on the link above if you go to the next page you'll find this: http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2010/10/05/300cc-inline-6-cylinder-by-guy-coulon-a-22000-rpm-race-engine-personal-project/
Built by Colin Edwards crew chief at Tech 3 Yamaha. Equally as ingenious...
