We were blessed with a stunning sunny day on wed for our first junior training day of this season. The youngsters have had dedicated sessions at the last three KOL rounds and numbers are very good.
It was decided to have a day in the school holidays specifically for those just starting out and those who had done a race or two in streetstock and felt they could do with some advice.
Jenni Gibson did a great job of co-ordinating everything as usual. (including lunch)
Dan Ormsby our official trainer (ORMSBY MOTORCYCLE TRAINING) directed the day and a whole host of Mums / Dads and older junior riders came along to help.
Dennis Charlett took a rather looooong lunch break from work to help Dan with some specific race training (top bloke)
We had approx 14 young riders. Some very new 50cc riders who got to go out as a group so they didnt have to contend with the 150,s flying past.
It was good to be able to spend plenty of time on track in great conditions, and to be able to provide one-on-one tuition to most.
There is no doubt Canterbury has some talanted youngsters waiting to follow in the footsteps of previous junior riders.
Another twilight session for them tonite and then 3 sessions on sat at KOR rd1. That is a whole lot of track time in a week for the young stars.
BIG thanks to all who helped.......... Dan Ormsby (i believe he gave us his track booking) MCC for fully supporting the junior training.... Canterbury car club for sharing the pitlane with us (wth no hassles) and finally to Peter Jones who started the whole thing many years ago......CHEERS
