I borrowed a child road helmet yesterday, and spent about an hour taking the kids in my street for rides on the motorcycle up and down the street. Probably took about 10 of them for rides in the end.
None of them had ever been on a road bike before. A couple had been on off-road quads.

Funnily enough, the thing that most concerned them seemed to be doing U-turns at the end of the street. Ended up doing three point turns (turned and rolled towards the curb, then pushed the bike backwards to go straight ahead again) to make them all happy.

Talk about excited. I think I may have breed a few new motorcyclists in decades to come. Plus gave them good stories to tell on Monday when they all go back to school. Plus hopefully there will be more adults (aka parents) supportive of motorcyclists as well now.

So, done any good deeds using your motorcycle lately?

My nana lives in an old persons home, I want to take some of them out on the bike when I get my full just to put a bit of excitement into their probably boring lives. Most of them arnt super old so it shouldn't be a problem.

I think as long as they are still supple (aka, can bend their legs enough to get on and off) you should be fine. I bet it would give them a big thrill!

Around xmas time this one is always good for attacking the "bikers are gang members" stereotype.....

One nice day we had a bit of lunch in Amberly, when we were approached by an elderly lady (77) who used to ride a 125 BSA Bantam. We asked if she wanted to go for a ride on the back of the ST and she said no, but must have thought about it, as after her meal she accepted the offer and off she went with R at the helm. She was stoked when she got back, couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She was going home to write it in her diary and ring her family to tell them.... lol.... made her day.

Probably been done before I guess but whomever has the organisational skills ever thought of putting together a kiwi biker pillion run for the cancer kids or hospice kids around xmas time. Managed to do it for ACC levies... Bet that'd give the wee mites a thrill and give us some good PR pre silly season.... just a thought.

The local kids had a great time last xmas with one of my mates in a santa suit giving them rides on my scooter up and down the street.

Probably would have been better if he hadn't been drinking for about 4 hours beforehand though.......
