hi lads, have a wee new model ninja, she's currently standard green with black rims with green rimtape.
Now i bought the bike with very minor cosmetic damage and some of her is going to need a lick of paint and im sorta thinking if im going to that bother maybe i should go the whole hog and in a non-standard colour....white.

Heres a shit photoshop to give you the idea, what would your opinions be?

maybe a black front guard and a couple of accents would help it out

Heh - I read that as 'a couple of accidents' - thought that was a bit rude :)

Let me know how you go with finding quotes for getting it done, I bought mine (in black) with minor cosmetic damage on the left side and was thinking of doing the same and going white, but still haven't found a place that will do the whole bike for a good price.

What is a decent quote in your eyes? I may be able to help

IMO fully fairing bikes should not be all white - too much to my eye.

Naked bikes yes.

SO

I had a fart around and came up with this - crappy application as it has been done in Paint and I'm on the red wine  but you get the idea.

In the end - your bike, go for it.

WTF!!!!!!!!!

Some bugger stole my idea before I had it.

Just how much wine have I been having?

I'm off to wrap my head in tinfoil - the Government may be stealing my thoughts.

I had 2 6inch cracks that were badly fibreglassed and possibly 'solder ironed' together. I had them plastic welded by a mate of a mate on Henderson Valley road for 150bucks. Have a mate of mate doin the full respray for a touch over 500 as long as i remove the plastics and tank. Ive seen quite a bit of the lads painting before and im happy to take the bike to him.

Quite liking the black section on your version and also loving the zx6r. I think i will respray all white and then in future i can add satin/matt black vinyls in a chosen style if i think she needs it :)

Definately going white now, reason I asked is if i go to sell her on in a few months then i know now that people will like her being white instead of the standard green

$150 for plastic welding sounds like quite a bit to me. I had one big crack (20 cm?) done for $45.

Because he's asking for our opinion. I think it would look sweet.

I wouldn't do it. No point sinking money into a bike that you will only have for your learners period.

My right side green fairing has small cosmetic scratches. So if you're keen on painting and your right side fairing is in good nick, I'd be keen to swap before you repaint. Of course I'll pay you for it, which may reduce your overall costs by a third to half. Has to be original green. Cheers

Leave the front fairings off, lower the handlebars and tidy up the front end (wires and fairing mounts etc) and that'll be one of the best looking EX250's around.
