I was lucky enough to get to Malaysia for the Sepang round of the MotoGP World Championship 2010. I had a great time and took quite a few photos and videos of my time there.

It was my first time going to Asia so it was quite an eye opener and while the first two days were nice and easy the last hours before we came home turned into a nightmare with 3hr trip back to KL (usually takes 45mins) due to a bus driver who drove us 5km down the road the wrong way past a traffic jam (as in took us to the back instead of joining it right outside the circuit), he then decided he wanted a piss stop and smoko so just pulled into a service station and walked away leaving 40+ passengers going WTF? Thankfully we got the right taxi driver to take us back to the airport, and after travelling down the 90kph motorway at 150kph in a Proton Saga (think 1985 Corolla) we got to our flight with 15mins to spare.

Anyway, here are a few pics I took. Will upload vids eventually but they are all 50mb+ so need compressing first.

Photo uploader is being a bitch so you'll have to go to my facebook page instead.

Awesome shots. Well done and im envious.

recent edition to the family means i can't make the pilgrimage to Phillip Island this year, instead i'll go next year and watch Rossi do it in red.

It was rather quiet in the stands on qual/practice day, but on the race day it fully packed out for the main event, 125s and Moto2 it was packed in the stand where I was but down the ends looked a bit empty. Most mostly Malaysians to be honest, there were spatterings of Brits, Aussies and Italians all over the show but I couldn't see any great congregations.

I've got around 1000 photos all up for the whole trip including some local sights, only just finishing off getting through them so will post some more in the next few days when they are finally uploaded - there is about 4gb worth so it's gonna take a while!

I noticed that airfares to Malaysia were around $1000 return to Auckland, I think if you booked in advance you could even maybe get a better rate.

Rach, didn't get a chance to go out and party though there was a night club right outside the appartments I stayed in, I thought about hitting it up but was mega tired from three days of travel and would have been rather underdressed... so I just had a bucket of beers on the 22nd floor overlooking the city instead
