I remember police auctions as a kid, but since I haven't had any contact with family friends in a force for some time.. does anybody have any information about how to get involved in these again?
They're a lot of fun and a good way to pick up a bargin sometimes...
(and if anybody knows where I can buy a man in uniform, well that would do just nicely too j/k :niceone: )

Contact your local station and speak to the property officer, they will be able to give you the info you need.

Not for a while. Its too cold at the moment to get excited about a new bike and I've just moved into a house that we have built so I've got no spare cash for a new bike at this time. I'll have to live with just a mountain bike for some time I think.
The Cops get first dibs on everything - that's why they live in flash new homes and ride top of the line mountain bikes just for fun....

Auctions in the US are really cool, heaps of stuff taken off drug dealers-fast cars, boats and guns if they werent involved directly in crime.

Happy Birthday to yooooooooo!
Hey, check out City Auctions here in Dunedin, they run auctions of police stuff I believe, along with other regular auctions.

A few years ago I became addicted to their auctions. I had to wean myself off, the entire house was filling with crap (but bargain priced crap).

If they haven't claimed it, they've probably got insurance for it and don't want to see it again.
*shrugs*
then again, I'm a very immoral person.
Guy at work turned up with a black Subby WRX that he'd picked up for $3K in a police auction, jammy bugger....
