The last of the trapped miners in the Chilean mine has been brought to the surface.
Pretty good effort on the part of the rescue crews etc IMO.

I wonder how long it would take us in NZ to get such a rescue organised and completed - what with Resource consents, etc etc etc...

Not that I am a cynic at all you unnerstand...

I heard Gary Glitter is in Chile now. The only place where you can slide a minor up and down your shaft and get applauded.

I think the miner who requested his mistress and his WIFE wait for him next to each other at the top when he gets out is like DAAAA MAAAAAN!

It is truly amazing that the rescue has been completed without incident and all are in good health.
Just a stunning piece of engineering. Well done to all involved!

World history was made today and I take my hat off to them. Fantastic rescue.

There was non stop coverage on BBC world news with cameras at both ends of the tunnel.

Chile, you have every right to be proud of yourselves today.

Was a good end to what was, will be interesting now to see what becomes of the whole story, the media again went into overkill mode, alas a good news story rather than "we are waiting for the hostages to be released"

Took some heat of Paul Henry it did. Wonder what he would have said about the guys coming up the shaft?
