I haven't heard from him but found this site for live timing www.computime.com.au
Here http://www.computime.com.au/Meetings/2010/MotoGP/index.aspx I can see that he did flippen well in qualifying to get 18th on the grid. Looks like he may have had an issue in practice with only 1 lap showing up on the sheet.
He was supposed to have two races last night but they were postponed (or maybe cancelled??) cause the rain delayed MotoGP practice. The schedule shows one race tonight so fingers crossed the weather is good for that!
Go hard Glen! :scooter:

Fingers and toes crossed that he gets some good racing in..... and hopefully some good exposure (and I don't mean from the brolly-dolly/promo girls) while he's there too.

FYI, Ben Henry in 4th is the son of Kiwi Brook Henry, who founded internationally renowned Ducati tuners Vee Two in Perth. He's since on-sold the business but they were/are the ducks nuts for making Duc's go crazy fast. Brook is the brains behind the Alchemy bikes, Squalo, Super Squalo etc. ( http://www.sportrider.com/features/146_0801_vee_two_super_squalo/index.html)

Yip,Sure is BUT!To go there and qualify 18th on the grid with a 3 year old bike at a track like Phillip Island in front of the money men in ASBK and more,Can only be a positive thing,It only takes 1 of them to realize what a talent this kid is and the doors will be wide open for him.
Most definitely a master stroke by Ozzy to get him thay sort of exposure and they should both be congratulated for the effort they put in to get there.

Im certainly not trying to be negative but 18th is not gonna cut it, Glen has the potential for a top 5 in that field on his own bike. Its a shame cause it all comes down to $$$ and I know Ozzy put a lot of effort into getting him that far.
Its all a learning experience though and now he has had some practice there give it 12 months with some more planning and next year could be a completely diff story.

Yip,18th probably wont cut it,The point was he was there showing them what he could do on an uncompetitive bike and as Im sure your aware,It only takes 1 person too notice and if your not there .....
Still,Spose he could have stayed in dreamland and waited for the phone to ring

I wondered why they were taking a pop gun to a gun fight myself at first, ( Money is a bitch) but he now kinda knows the track, and I am sure he wants back there to show what he can really do, the only weak link I see in Sketchy is his mind set/maturity, he is still very young, and I believe this event will have taught him a lot, and now watch him grow.
My hope from this event for Sketchy is, he sits down and thinks long and hard about the future, learns better planning/marketing skills, and comes out with Both gloves on FIGHTING! He has the talent 100%.
Good on everyone that helped with getting him over there, and Bloody good on Ozzy for all his work with him.

Hi all,
I am now back in NZ, a little under the weather and slightly battered body!
As I am sure you will have seen and worked out the trip certainly did not go to plan which is very unfortunate, but sadly that is just the way racing goes sometimes, however the trip did not go to waste, I have gained a lot of experience while there and had a good opportunity to eye up the competition. Despite a very mediocre performance during qualifying I am certain that the level of competition over there is no more than what we have here, it just takes anyone more than 13 laps of a track to try and learn and be as fast as them! Yes unfortunately due to a crash in practice at MG (tight hairpin at the bottom of the hill), the two friday races being canceled and being caught with a late shower and slick tyres on meant I had to sit out the final race on Saturday, I was only able to complete 13 laps during the weekend, and with a track as fast as Phillip Island, I think it would be impossible for anyone to be on the pace in that amount of time.
The bike I was riding that was supplied by Ozzy Performance was more than sufficient and the biggest limiting factor was most certainly myself!
I want to say thank you to everyone that helped out on this trip, and sorry that it did not pan out the way we wanted. I am glad I went and I wouldn't have changed a thing, It has just made more determined and has helped give me some direction for my racing career.
I am now going to bed for the night and will hopefully get a full report of the trip up tomorrow night!
Cheers,

Hey man, there was a heap of things against ya for sure. I have seen the pace of those guys in that class and I know that with track knowledge on the right gear you could run up front. Hope it all comes together for you next time

Hi all,
I am now back in NZ, a little under the weather and slightly battered body!

Based on these comments I would have to questions Shaun's doubts on weak links. Seems very mature here...

yep - only met him once and came away thinking what an incredibly focussed, motivated, determined, mature and polite person he was. He is young, but he knows exactly what he wants, how he's going to get there and he seems to have very good marketing and planning skills to get there. Plus the support of some great people behind him. Well done Glen and your support crew:woohoo:

Good on you Glen,
In my experience, whatever your endeavour, not many people start at the very top.
