A mate of mine, noted for keeping his bikes and cars in immaculate condition, has just found this and bought it. It's a '97 ZX7R and was owned by an older rider who put only the best of bits on it to refine and enhance what is surely one of the all-time classic sports bikes.:yes:

The paintwork is original and untouched, the Scorpion can sounds awesome, the motor is quiet, smooth and tight-sounding at 50,000km and it's been dyno'd at 125hp at the wheel.

All he's going to do is touch up what needs doing to make it truly mint and enjoy a piece of biking history that is still a fabulous ride 13 years later! :first:

Saw this, or one very simlar in town the other day, was thinking to myself how it doesn't look it's age at all - very nice. Another bike to add to the "one day" list.

had one as my second bike. Ridden the front hard on every bike since. Found the carbs never stayed tuned tho, drove me nuts, and switched to an FI bike

this along with the 2001- 03 gsxr bikes are the best bike you can get for the money, for some reason they seem to go really cheap.
