WTF? 1.89 seconds faster than the next guy during warmup? .6 sec better than everyone else for qualifying?

You'd have to say if he stays on the fucking thing he'll be gone baby gone!

Yeah I agree, he'll be without doubt the person to beat for sure. Obviously the bike is looking good for next season, wanna change your mind about Rossi never winning another title? Sorry, couldn't help myself

Nope. Think how fast Stoner will be on a bike that's not as nasty to ride as the Ducati. I mean seriously...as much as it's obviously better now that it has been this season...how many careers has that bitch of a bike ended or nearly ended?

I think Rossi and company will sort the evil tendencies of the Ducati and have it sorted quick smart, look what he did for Yamaha. Biaggi couldn't sort it out but Rossi and crew soon had it going well... Or is it that Rossi is extreeemely talented? Either way, given a little time he'll be just fine on the Ducati, the team has just got to get it to steer and go 'round corners nicely. It's clear the the Ducati does'nt lack for straight line speed or power so get it to corner like a Yamaha and it'll be fast all the time. :niceone:
If they achieve that he'll be able to ride it to another championship sitting on it backwards. :D

True, but this is easier said than done. These bikes are right on the limit and even with electronics there seems to be a very fine line to tread.Remember also they have much less testing time now than in the past. Its taken some very talented men a whole season to sort the Ducati and the Honda, but as can be seen by the results the Ducati is still marginal somehow if ridden at the speeds required to keep up with the two Yamahas

Most, if not ALL of Stoners 'critics' are simply jealous of him. I mean fucking hell...he became one of the youngest ever champions of the class, and matched all sorts of records. He's paid millions of Euros a year, has a drop dead gorgeous wee wife, and kicks Rossi's arse like no one before him ever has. 18 Seconds at the last round any one? What's the stats now between Rossi vs Stoner head to head since Stoner got a factory ride? Rossi was born into GP racing. Stoners family sold everything they had to get him where he's at.

They'll all wank on about how he's a moaner, how he's a winging pussy, but anyone saying such things knows nothing at all about road racing. If they did, they'd all be saying how lucky they were to witness such salubrious riding.

You have hit the nail on the head saying that and l agree totally. Most of his critics couldn't even Race a bike half as fast as he does and yet they stand on the other side of the fence and criticise like they do instead of geting off their so called Arses and having a go at it themselves. Regardless of what they think (and thats not much) Stoner is a very talented and exciting Racer to watch and will continue on being so, for as long as he is out there regardless of what bike he is on. And good on him for achieiving what he has in all of those years he has been Racing and having both very supportive parents as well as a Very pretty Supportive Wife.

The criticism they face is simply the price of fame, and no one should see reason in standing up for them..... They are paid way too much really.

Are they really paid too much? For those of us earning not so much, it seems it, but in comparison to other entertainers, they're underpaid for the risks they take.

How much does a movie star make for each film, or episode?

You then look at our fantastic news people over here (Holmes, Henry, and other high profile ones) - I can't see the value in paying them $1000's a week, and seriously think they've overpaid (I don't watch the news much). The ones that travel to warzones are taking a risk so should be paid more than ones sitting comfortably on their couch or behind the desk.

As to Stoner, not a fan, but I thought his first ever win was a fantastic result. We were sitting in the southern loop stand over the weekend, and heading out on the warm up lap or the one to the grid, he was giving a little wave (hand just off the bar, a shy sort of wave really). That I thought was a lovely touch, but I still can't cheer him on.

The conditions we all faced was atrocious. On the Friday I was impressed with the 125's heading out, taking huge risks, and not letting the fans down. Same for all classes really.

A couple of marshalls were taken away for hypothermia, the riders were all heading back to the pits to be rugged back up. It was seriously crap Friday. Saturday not quite as bad, and then Sunday, brilliant. The marshalls had a hell of a job as well, and just do it for the love of it.

It also meant it was damned hard to know what tyres to put on and get the bikes dialled in for the actual races and some crashes were the end of the weekend for the riders.

Nah, the racers deserve whatever they get paid. Stoner got his bike best sorted out, Jorge secondly, but the two of them didn't make it interesting.

Eh? He's won a few races in his time. Will win a few more too.

Really? Didn't realise. I meant that the first time (note that's first, not only) he won a race, I thought it was cool. By about the third, I was over it. He needs to dominate to win (not always, there has been some good racing over the years when he's not dominated the race).

I know that makes sense, but it can lead to some bloody dull "racing". I also know it's damned hard to lead from the front as well (rather than having someone to battle with), (just look at Pedrosa crashing out a couple of times when he's tried to dominate from the front).

I'm just not a fan, and not because he's Australian. I'm not a fan of Jorge either.

There was some good racing happening further down the field. The indicator to me of a boring race is when they replay the start (when nothing really happened). They, thankfully, will show some of the battles further down when it's a one horse race.

I think the best part of the racing was Moto2 (as expected). They were showing the battle for 6th-16th at one point. I sat there watching it and realised that it wasn't a battle for that, it was a battle to get ONE point. The guy who ended up last in that pack was not going to get anything (along with the guys back from there). That was damned impressive.

I'm not sure that anyone has said Stoner does not have talent, it just seems that he come across so, well....arrogant, and completely lacking in charisma, particularly when in the company of his peers ( Rossi,Hayden,Melandri, et all) I admit to not really being a Lorenzo fan either, he is the champ, and deservedly so, but he just come across as the better personality between Him and Stoner.

For me it is nithi g todo with Stoner being an Aussie, and my dislike, because Mike Doohan and Wayne Gardner are griigen awesome.

It doesn't really matter what any of us think or feel about those Riders in the Moto GP as they are where they are because they have worked and earned their way to being there and have been blessed with being good enough of getting themselves a ride on a Moto GP bike.
All sportsman and woman have their critics l guess that is just a part of being out there in the limelight and expected to do 100% everytime they perform or compete in whatever sport they are out there doing. Just have to realise that none of us a perfect and we all try and do the best we can on the day which is all we can hope for.
Yes they get paid well but why shouldn't they as alot of other sports people also get paid well and thats what happens when sport today is all about money.

Most, if not ALL of Stoners 'critics' are simply jealous of him. I mean fucking hell...etc

They'll all wank on about how he's a moaner, how he's a winging pussy, but anyone saying such things knows nothing at all about road racing. If they did, they'd all be saying how lucky they were to witness such salubrious riding.

Hang on. Consider the following statements:

I have never raced and don't know all that much about it.
Casey Stoner can ride a bike awesomely fast
Casey Stoner, like all the other top-level racers, is very talented and very brave.
Casey Stoner seems a wee bit over-sensitive to criticism.
Casey Stoner is prone to falling off when riding at the limit.
Casey Stoner has an attractive, if rather thin, wife.

Why can't they all be true at the same time?
