Headset that does everything...?

Being a gadget freak, I like to have electronic toys...

I have a Blueant Interphone that connects to my phone. The receiver is stuck on the LHS of the helmet.

I also have a TPX detector. That has a receiver that sticks to the RHS of the helmet.

When (and if) I ever get a GPS, I won't have another ear to stick yet another speaker near. And none of the GPS's I have looked at so far will connect to either of the devices I already have...:angry:

It seems to me that there ought to be a universal headset that can connect to a bunch of different devices - such as those mentioned above plus maybe a music box for them as likes to listen to noise...oops I mean music, as they ride and anything else that might need an audio feed.

Does such a thing exist? Or would it be too good to be true?

I kind of get the feeling that some manufacturers make things so that you HAVE to buy their extra goodies if you want full functionality for the toy...but then I am a cynical old bastard anyway...

Try contacting KNCTRD or Mustek, they have been selling a bluetooth intercom.
Interphone f4, these can pair to 3 different devices at the same time, unfortunately you cant listen to all 3 at the same time , but you can switch between them.I use a detector, gps and intercom to the missus as well.
you can use these units bike to bike as well , up to 500m.

I think the Garmin Zumo is supposed to talk to both your phone and your headset, and relay calls etc. Don't know if it will deal with more inputs than that.

baehr, hardwired into bike. GPS (+ music and mobile), radar, fed through a comms box with priority feeds, one cable to helmet.

I always feel a bit nervous at the idea of being tethered to my bike, especially by the head ...

I'm sure it would let go when required, but still.

yes, it let go... When i, ahem, let go. Felt the faintest tug as the bike slid away, then didn't give it a second thought and focussed on being pissed off.

Update your phone and use one device for GPS, music and calls, and then find some cleaver sod to write an app to link your detector to your phone.
May need a FM pickup in the phone for radio, so maybe Nokia N8?
Depends on how the Visalert / HARD unit trigger from your detector.
Or have a helmet that looks like it has a nasty skin condition…
