Hi all,

Have moved #2 son from his quad & onto 2 wheels. The family is now able to go out together, but now the question of getting everyone's bikes there & back. If one has a typical load of Hondas: one 230/250, a CRF150, CRF70 and CRF50, will they all go onto a 7'x4' wellside trailer? That's loaded properly, tied down like they're your bikes, not dumped in with a forklift...

Obviously there are wrinkles like tying the 50 over the drawbar, but that's where I put The Big Box For Crap That Won't Fit In The Car. 2-forward-2-backward sounds like the way to go, but how do you tie down the backs of the bikes in the middle? I'm unwilling to drill through the galv'd chassis to put in more rings. And the 150 smacks its footpeg on the side of the trailer if I load that skewed to one side.

2-bike racks front & rear may help. It's a Pinto trailer, so their racks would fit.

If it hurts less, imagine the same-sized bikes in other colours.

Is a 7x4 big enough, or do I need to visit the finance committee for an 8x5? And a 4x4 to tow it. And a bigger place to store it...

Cheers,

I get 3 on a 7x4, 2 facing fwd and the middle one facing backward. The little one may go across the A frame of the trailer draw bar if you could jury rig a bracket and tyre rut... if that makes sense. Good to hear it's a family thing tho' good luck.

Go and talk to Ian at Pinto (opposite Cycletreads?) he's a bike rider & racer and will make it work in the best way possible.
