And when I stop hyper-ventilating and dribbling, I'll tell ya all about it.

Few facts to keep you amused.

1) It's comfortable (yawn)

2) It's loud. Fucken loud for a stocker

3) The brakes are ace

4) It's stupidly fucken fast

5) It's tiny and handles beaut

6) If you don't want one after riding it, you're a homo

I'm off to dribble some more.

ps Did anyone see my you-beaut mono up Kent Tce half an hour ago?

Best buy one WT. Aaron has just had his R1 ported, ignition timing advanced etc. If you get a K5 you may finally have a bike of equal power, and then we'll see the SI kick you NI poofdas at Ruapuna. While the legendary BiffBird flips on the last corner, again.

Ummmm, I think a K5 will do to his "hot"R1 what my bike did to his standard R1. I reckon if his bike's that good now, we should be on equal footing.

And yeah, I'm keen for a re-match anytime. As I told the good man on the day.

Bear in mind, I know what way the track goes now.

Oooooooooo it's shapin' up to be a goody again!

Now I never got that - it's all back to front. Surely, if you were a big beer drinker, and your beer was really precious, it'd be a good thing if the "almost perfect woman" didn't drink beer? :weird:

The test wasnt run by Aussies, its the biggest motorcycle sportsbike comparison in the world and has been for the last 3-4 years, testers from 15 different magazines. Its a racetrack only test, what they found was the Suzuki was a bit soft in the front suspension and had too tall gearing, saying it suited the more experienced rider, but only 2 out of 15 riders set their fastest time on the GSXR1000, maybe it was the track, whatever, interesting read, buy the mag and check it out. Ohh, the MV1000 was 3rd, the R1 2nd and the ZX10R 1st.

The lap times were quite interesting. You see Sam from AMCNs (who's no mug) times were up to 5 secnds a lap off the top times of each bike. Fuck me those spaniards can ride!

This will sound like sour grapes but what planet were those magazine testers on? The mag said something like their master test was based on 'best race track performance' not road. Therefore the WSB series should provide the best evidence of how well they got it right or wrong. The GSR is currently holding overall 1st and 2nd place and CBR in 3rd then Ducati and Ducati again. So the mag ranks the top WSB performers last?? They picked the ZX10 and R1 as best on a track? Those journos must really know something about track racing that the world's top riders don't because I checked the podium wins so far this year. If you take the number of top three position places won this year by Yamaha and Kawasaki, add them together, multiply by 10, you get ... wait for it... zero. Shit they must be brilliant 'racetrack bikes' compared to those GSRs that can only come first or second place again and again. I'm not picking on the R1 and ZX here, they're all great bikes, I'm picking on those piss poor mag testers that come up with a stupid result that contradicts everything that's really happening out there on the track. I've lost all faith in Mag tests. Next year they'll pick the 30bhp Royal Enfield if the Makers out bribe Kawasaki. Time to stop buying bike mags.

Well one of the testers is Barry Veneman, who races a privateer GSXR600 in world supersport and has top 10 finishes, me thinks, hes farkin' fast. Rather than look at World Superbike, look at the World Superstock results, these are closer to production based bikes, heres the current standings http://212.104.10.19/Campionato.asp?p_S_Campionato=SST&p_Anno=2005
See that? 5 of the top 6 are Yamahas, how about the AMA Superstock results, Aaron Yates leads on a Suzuki, but hes chased by a couple of Yamahas and Kawasakis, and he only took the points lead after the last round.

Had a sit on one yesterday. Hope to test ride it next week if I can get time off. They are small. I like the seat position. Reminds me of my 85 GSX-R. Say were do you mount the radar detector ?????? Or is it so clean and light you just change in to third and disappear in to the never never and then send it back to the shop. I don't think the wifey would be to pleased with the add on she has to sit on. There ain't no seat on that rocket launcher. So looking forward to a ride but I know I don't have the money to buy one but how unsettled am I going to be after the ride? I think WT knows what he is talking about and it sounds like this thing is going to make my day. Then I get back on the old 96 GSX-R 750 and do what ? Peddle? :motu: Still, got to do these things. K5 here I come.

Veeeeery interesting. Honda doesn't rate too well. Didn't even SEE a Ducati. I guess historically Honda and Ducati have had it sussed- win the glamour class and trade on the old rule "What Wins on Sunday, Sells on Monday" Meanwhile Yamaha and Suzuki have been making kickass 1000's that you can actually BUY.
