Great ride, just watch out for the loose gravel and road works around Glen Murray/Nike. Haven't done it for a while but there were road works at the Raglen end too.
Good cafe opposite the pub.

Expect the road to be covered in crap from farms. This doesn't ruin the ride though unless your a Rossi.

albeit in the car. Bit of roadworks/repair I guess due to rain damage as there were a few trees that looked like they had just be felled. Lots of nice tight turns and there were lots of bikers that day. Great ride - I'd love to do it on 2 wheels!

A fantastic ride. Well worth the effort. Miles and miles of twisties. Like it has been said, watch for the farm debris on the road. Have a great day and trip.

Went that exact route a couple of weeks ago.

Some road work was going on, there was a stretch in particular (1-2k or so), where the road was covered with a layer of gravel.

In a couple of places, there were big ripples along the road, almost like an earthquake uplifted certain sections of the road.

Them caution signs are well placed though, so there wasn't any major surprises . Except for one pile of loose gravel around a 35k (recommended) corner... I followed the recommended speed for the next few corners.. lol

Went through the lower 1/3 yesterday.
Work on the drop outs/road slump is under way.
Be very careful if on a sprot bike.
The drops are more than 12inches in places, and some are ripped up ready for repair.
Some loose stock about also.

I did about 5km of 22 today - from Mercer Ferry to Churchill....it's like SH1 to me,I just use it to get to other roads.I did the full length about a month ago,to get into the feel of riding a bike again - I see nothing wrong with the road,it's more the wrong riders on the wrong bikes.
