These really are the bees knees. Im an extremely keen motorcyclist and wasnt overly impressed with some of the big name brands of neck and face warmers. My wife (who makes sporting wear for a living) and myself designed these and we are wrapped with what we have come up with.
Check them out.

Dude, it's the online trading part of the forum, you're supposed to advertise stuff here.
s41, are the neck warmers the same thickness and material all over? I've got a cheap neckwarmer from motomail, it's made out of stuff similar to what thermal underwear is made of, but maybe a bit thicker. Thing is, the wind pretty much goes straight through it, so while you're moving, it doesn't work too well. But while you're stopped, I guess it works - just that when you're stopped you don't really need it.
Does your neck warmer block the wind? Is there any difference in thickness or type of material on the front of the warmer where it is exposed to the wind?
Just curious.
Sorry about advertising in the wrong section oooppps
Check them out on trademe. A member suggested i try selling them on kiwibiker.
Check my feedback on trademe if in doubt.
Double layered in the front. Very warm and comfy but not waterproof.

The non waterproof ones are better as the water tends to sit in it and not end up in nether regions. I forked out mega bucks for a fash as wind proof water proof version as advertised in many bike mags, great on these cold nights but not so good in the wet. Also not so great with an open face, IMHO the freebee one that that came with my last bike is the bees knees. Still to try out the balaclava that came with my current bike.
Sure beats a scarf coming unravelled and waving dangerously close to the rear workings, i'm sure there are many stories about scarves floating around out there.

Ordered one, arrived 1 working day after receipt of online payment. Good work mate!
First impressions, 30 mins around 100km/h areas in about 5-7 degrees was excellent. Very comfy, keeps the wind out just nicely. Great price!
Tiniest little gripe (non-issue really).Found it a little suffocating when over my nose. Not because its too tight (Which is isnt, its just right) the particular material of course doesnt let too much air through so I found it stopping me from breathing through my nose freely. I may just edit it so I have a small slit there for mah nosey.
Seal of approval from Mr Devil.

Got mine today, so I'll take the long way home to test it out.
When we designed these neck warmers there was some talk of leaving a slit in so your nose could hang out. After lots of feedback from fellow bikers it was decided not to as everyone liked the way they were.
As you say if you do find them slightly suffocating you can adjust them yourself or you could buy a gsx1000 and you will find plenty of air inside your helmet!!!
Cheers on feedback. Lots more positive feedback on the trademe site.

Can these be used to disguise your face when conducting terrorist activities??
You can use them for whatever you want. We have sold these to all sorts of people doing all sorts of different things. Obviously we designed these for the motorcyclist but have sold them to skiers, cyclists, walkers, farmers, news paper delivery staff, and even a lady who races sleds pulled by huskies.
If you want to rob a bank with them, personally i don't give a toss, but would rather our product was put to better use.
Remember these are selling on trademe for $28 incl postage, but to kiwibiker members $23 incl postage!!!

Aren't you always going to get complaints??? :weird: And who cares what they might think.
Just give them a stunning smile. Like me behind the breath guard. Then you remember there is no way they'll ever see it.

Would still be good as a neck warmer, just dont have it pulled over your face. Or you call always just pull it off your face when you're about to dish out the bash to someone.

I have two (2) questions, for anyone who has one of these fancy neck warmers, or who knows stuff:
I have a helmet that's snug. Will it pull the neck warmer down when I put the helmet on over it?
Does the neck warmer inhibit head movement at all?

1) I found that it pulled the back down a little, but it was still just under my ears, which is the area I need covered.
2) minimal. If you want to check out mine, am in the Glenfield area. PM me.

Thanx, D.
I'm actually being a wuss, as I have only minimal cold spots: chin gets slightly coldish, and there's a gap of less than a centimetre between helmet and collar at the back. I've also just found (by shutting visor and vents) that the air from the helmet's vents is exhausted into this gap, via an exhaust vent at the rear of the helmet. Good in summer, but chilly in winter.:cold:

Ahh, go for it anyway, its a bargain.
I dont have too much of a cold spot, but this thing sorts it out just the shiz.
With the leathers though I end up with quite a gap around the helmet due to lower neck line, Havent tried it yet, but im sure it'll be very helpfull.

Yeah, I'd already figured that. There's a couple of alternatives on the market, but (a) this is NZ made, and (b) it's a bargain, as you said.

When I used to wear a leather 'touring jacket', I used to wear a polar-fleece neckwarmer, for just this reason. It was good(ish), but too bulky, so it restricted head movement significantly.
My current jacket has a high collar, and a removable neck-warmer, but there's just that aforementioned small gap.
PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY. SOME PEOPLE ARE BUYING THESE THROUGH THE AUCTION PROCESS ON TRADEME AND THEN E-MAILING ME EXPECTING THE NECK WARMERS FOR $23. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. IF YOU PUSH 'BUY NOW' ON THE TRADEME SITE YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY $28 INCL POSTAGE. iF YOU WANT THEM FOR $23 E-MAIL ME DIRECT AS STATED QUITE CLEARLY IN PREVIOUS POSTS.

Our neckwarmers arrived by courier on Friday. Got some strange looks in the Ladies when I was trying it on!!
I am very impressed with this product.
I find this new neckwarmer very warm, and not at all restrictive when turning my head. It does feel much more snug around my neck than my old one, which just takes a bit of getting used to.
I have for a number of years been using a polyprop neckwarmer that was once the thigh of a longjohn, and it's been fine. It was very thin and not at all bulky. I had tried a couple of polar fleece or similar neckwarmers, but found them too thick and bulky and apart from not being able to breathe too well, they stopped me from turning my head, so I'd stuck with my longjohn-thigh warmer.
I would occasionally get a bit of a draft if the neckwarmer moved up/around, but the design and fabric of s41's warmers means it stays in place and doesn't ride up at all - very well shaped and stretchy/thin fabric (but warm!)
The only problem Hamish found was that with the fabric up over his nose, his glasses fogged up. Simple solution is to fold the fabric down under the nose.
Very well made, very good value for money (esp at the Kiwibiker price).
I would highly recommend this product - great initative there s41. Have you thought of approaching shops to sell them?
Of course, I have personalised mine with a Ducati label on the front.....(well, I had to differentiate between mine and Hamish's somehow, didn't I!!)

Just got mine today and it works realy well! I've got 2 other neck warmers, one lets a draft in and the other is too restrictive but this one is perfect :). Thanks S41 :2thumbsup
Mine should be arriving today.... I've got an HJC face mask but the back of my neck gets cold with that. :ride:

Do any of you that hve bought them have helmets that are quite snug around the bottom? Mine is pretty tight, and has extra flap thingos around the base, and I reckon that will pull the neckwarmer down. Waddya reckon?
My helmet is very snug fitting and doesnt pull the warmer down at all. You have to remember these are elastic and cling nicely to the face and neck.
Best $23 you will ever spend on a bike.
Crappy ones in bike shops are selling from $50 up to $70 and we reckon these are heaps better. We have sold 80odd in the last few weeks, mainly on trademe, but you lot are slowly catching on.
Remember $23 applies only if you e-mail me direct. If you go through the trademe process $28
Cheers

Vifferman: my helmet is quite snug everywhere, but the neckwarmer is a clingy stretchy fabric so it stays in place when I put my helmet on. You should be fine.

Yes these neck warmers are great. I have a 55km ride to work and a 55km ride home(funny that) and work shift work. I have been using the bike this week and until yesterday it was not really cold enough to test this thing properly. Well last night when I left for work at 6:00pm it was sorta cold but the neck warmer worked great and my neck was toasty. But this morning on the way home at 7:00am there was frost everywhere and it was bloody cold... But my neck was warm only part of me that was cold was my fingers and toes. Get one you'll not regret it.

How odd.Yes, that is strange. I find that my ride in in the mornings is 25km and takes 20 minutes , but often the ride home is 100km or more and takes an hour or so.
Mrs Ixion has often commented on this strange phenonomen, with some disparagment. She cannot understand why I am often late for dinner . I explain that it is one of those inexplicable natural things, which I have no control over. I put it down to quantum myself.
Oddly, it seems more prevalent in fine weather in summer. Dunno why that is
I havnt tried my neck warmer on the bike yet but I took it up skiing in some shit house weather last week and it worked a charm.

I got one of these and have now tried it a couple of times. Seems good.
Simpler and less messy than the traditional scarf. When you stop you can just fold it down , you don't have to take it off, looks like a crew neck.
Is well made, seams neatly finished and overlocked (used to work in the rag trade).
Recommended.
I've got one of the neck warmers too, it arrived a couple of weeks ago now, but I wanted to give it a try before posting, plus I've been busy last week with exams.
I agree with what other's have said, the quality of work is really good, I'm impressed. The material looks like a good choice for a neckwarmer, I haven't seen this type of material before, it's kinda close weave stretchy material on the outside and like felt on the inside.
It's warmer than either of the other two neckwarmers I've tried (a thick polarfleece one and a thin thermal-underwear-type-material one), particularly around the top of the neck.
It doesn't feel restrictive at all (unlike the thick polarfleece neck warmer I've tried).
It does seem to make the visor fog up a bit more easily like LB said. But it's not much of a problem, my visor fogs up anyway.
The only other points I'd make are that it still lets a bit of the cold air through, I think if you were touring in cold conditions, you'd probably still want a scarf or something.
The other thing is that I think it could fit me a bit better, it feels like the lower front part of the neck is too loose, the material bunches up a bit, and under the chin it feels like it doesn't allow quite enough material for how far my chin sticks out relative to my neck. Maybe it's because I'm tall, I'm not sure. In any case, the fit is still better than the other neck warmers I've tried.
