It goes to show that as long as you are involved with a pointy-ball game, you can get away with anything in NZ...

Is Ted Henry related to God? I don't think he is related to Paul....
But he got off....and if it was an average Joe Bloggs most of us would give him a pat on the back and say "Lucky Buggar"
I do not begrudge anyone being let off unless they are a person responsible for upholding/enforcing the law...then whats good for the goose...

If this time next year we aren't holding up a certain cup I bet he will get ticketed for every time he exceeds the limit by 1 kph though.

I always thought he was an arrogant prick but I never realized he is stupid. He should just have paid the fine and got on with it. The damage this does to his and the police's credibility and reputation far outweighs paying a fine he can easily afford.

It's not a good look! 30km over the limit is walking territory!
This happened to a few little old ladies etc in a badly signed and non attended road works area a while ago, that I remember!
It was during Hitler Helen Clark's reign of terror though! Nough said!

Its not walking territory and after all the moans on KB about police not using discretion I would have thought this would have had nothing but support.
No one knows why Henry was given a warning so its all supposition.

I've been let off with much worse than that, on more than one occasion.

Mmm, it appears the KB Pitchforks (tm) have been sharpened in vain:

All Blacks coach Graham Henry avoided a speeding ticket on Friday night because the police officer involved was not qualified to issue one.
Without naming Henry, police said reports that a "prominent New Zealander" was let off a speeding ticket because of who he was were not correct

Wonder if the one who gave me mine was allowed to give out invoices?
But wtf,I was speeding so can't see a problem getting pinged, just the same as those "let off" knew they were speeding how many ask for ticket to be enforced lol.
