I watched the intro of the show, then I got bored and started studying physics (seriously).

Don't try that kind of thing at home kids!

Love it. Greg Murphy, a racing driver, who has driven and crashed at high speeds, sending the message of 'speed kills' home. Then, at the end of the show, standing next to a crushed flattened Barina that's just been dropped from a helicopter to simulate a 150km/h crash, he says 'this is where we would normally say don't try this at home - pause for effect- but if you've driven at this speed - pause again - you already have.

Priceless. By the end of this series speeding motorists will be finally considered the scum of all scum by all of the general public. Including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc etc etc.

Funny that. I've crashed a car at 150kmh and I didn't have a single injury on me. According to him I should have been dead a long time ago.

Best part of the show is the woman in the Porsche clocked at over 130km/hr.
Asked why she was driving at that speed: "Because 100km/hr is just so slow".:killingme

I had a choice between watching it or a rectal exam. A no brainer really.

I saw Greg Murphy speaking out on Close Up about the need to address the problem of idiots in cars. I commend him for taking a stand.

It's a pity that the production of this programme sounds like it's a flop. (Don't know - didn't watch).

We need more like him to stand up and say it's time to sort our shit out.

Unfortunately it almost solely concentrated on the 'speed kills' message. Nothing about idiotic driving, other than excessive speed. Nothing about driver inattention, driver fatigue. Scott Dixon did show us how to control a car in a slide, somewhat. Nothing about how to avoid such a situation in the first place. Other than not speeding.

(The 100km/h simulated crash was actually 105km/h, the speed Lady Diana's Merc was traveling at when she died, which they went to great effort to point out. Note it wasn't actually a 100km/h test, as according to the message the show was portaying everyone would have survived that.)

Clearly I am unable to watch it, but if the production of the show is as bad as it sounds, the message may well get lost.... That would be a shame.

My experience is New Zealanders, by in large, over estimate not only their skills, but also the ramifications of speeding.

Me? I have twice lost my license (both times demerits for speeding) over the course of my life... And I also recently got a ticket on the Autobahn (Missed the 100km zone sign and was doing 122km)...and I get 2 points for it (F#%k), but, as a have matured, I never intentiallly speed.

Recorded it, but haven't watched it yet.

Speed does kill. The Gummint tells us, and therefore it must be so.

(In the event I get pulled over again, I'm so asking if the cop is qualified to give out tickets)

Yeah, and speed accounted for the other 15 and the police tactic didn't fail 'coz there were fewer crashes overall and anyway 10 of the 300 drunken speeders were ghosts, then the wonderful..............
