Young guy on Aprilia heading south today decided not to stop, had centrelined, passed on blind bends, speeds in excess 150kph etc, public complaints about this.

Saw one Police car and guess he'd be stopped so upped the speed and less-than-safe overtaking style, saw a second Police car a few km further on waiting for him so carried on even faster.

Got to the top of a rise at the end of a straight where the road went right.

He didn't

He got a helicopter ride to Dunedin hospital.

His bike ain't so flash neither.

Oh well, scared into crashing by a cop chick, gotta be good for a pub story when he get out of hospital.

Maybe then he'll also get a motorbike licence.

Epic fail.

Sad weekend for him eh!.

But not for me, after the chopper was gone and the bent Aprilia picked up I had a bourbon or two while mulling over Mr Aprilia riders stupidity then went home.

The only way to stop the police provoking dangerous chases like this, endangering the public not to mention putting a motorist in hospital, and not forgetting playing a part in the destruction of someones personal property, is to remove the police from our roads.

I agree, and furthermore, were it legal to consume an average quantity of alcohol to start with, the copette may have been attractive enough to stop for!

Hell, he was riding like a twat BEFORE he even saw the first Police car!

(Hence why he came to notice as mentioned in first post)

Nah, Army types chased us away from where we wanted to watch - the meanies!, reckoned we were in danger! (And they might have been right!)

But we were close enough behind that digger seen on the news, rattled me fillings it did.

http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/8226320/motorcyclist-crashes-in-police-pursuit/

An unlicensed motorcyclist has been injured after crashing during a police pursuit in south Otago today.

The 24-year-old Christchurch electrician had been clocked by police speeding at 148kmh on State Highway 1, south of Milton, about 2.50pm.

Police began to pursue the man and after about a kilometre, the man failed to take a moderate bend and crashed into a ditch, Balclutha police said.

He suffered moderate chest injuries and was flown to Dunedin Hospital by rescue helicopter as a precautionary measure.

Before being clocked speeding, there had been complaints by other motorists relating to dangerous overtaking, police said.

The man was likely to face charges of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
It appeared his decision to fail to stop was because of his speeding and the fact he did not have a motorcycle licence, police said.

You'd think that the Police would drop that last charge, just to take the piss.

Hmm I gave your idea some thought and perhaps we can improve on it a little, make everyone a traffic cop and issue them with firearms, that should reduce the carnage fairly rapidly, once of course we get to the last person standing
