Hi folks, well, I walked away from black beauty about an hour ago. A sad day for me as this bike was going to be a keeper, but building a house has got no cheaper, rather more expensive than ever.

Dunno how I'm going to be without a bike but my daughter is happy about it my wife is sad too but relieved if you get my drift.... I'm not.

Gone to a fellow Kiwibiker who I know will look after her and get loads of enjoyment out of her. I'll let him say who he is as I'm sure he will be on here soon to say he got it.

I'll still be poking my nose in here from time to time.

Cheers

Paul

hey buddy got your message a bit late, tried texting ya.
But a sad day indeed mate, get it built start saving again and get back on two wheels as soon as you can. I must be bloody hard especially after this settled weather we have been having lately, at least you can get on with your building in the dry ;)

Always sad to see a bike go, it can feel like losing a friend, but when you know it's going to a good home it does make it more bearable.

Please do pop in here every now and then, keep entertaining us all with your "crap" stories like the one you shared the other day about the "system cleaner"... gave me a bit of a chuckle!

Cheers

What happend? Was it budget overruns that did it, or did you need to sell the bike "to do it right"?

I sold my triumph tiger cub for some cash towards the deposit on our house
I sold my 1974 triumph bonniville for the kitchen
then my wifes 1972 breadbox triumph bonniville for the bathroom
ive got more bikes now
just wait when the time comes you will get another bike
and the house will be done and you will have more time to enjoy it

Sad day, mate! :bye: I recall selling my old T500 back in '77 to get married. I'd just lost my job, and we were pretty broke and I still miss it. However I've had a few more over the years and it won't be too long before you've got another one, I'm sure! :sunny:

And don't you hate it when you hear bikes go past and yours has gone.

That's really bad news, having to sell your bike. I would be gutted.

Hope you made the right decision

You can do eeet.

When I sold my bike when kids came(or before),allbeit either XR200 or IT175,then ER185 due to various reasons,it was blooody great when I bought my 750 in 2006,then the bandit later on,really appreciate biking now,and a pillion who didn't want to be on back(when 750 bought) ,who is a great pillion, and really enjoys riding with me makes it enjoyable now.

just make sure you get one of those double & a half garages, then you can tell your wife that you cant possibly waist that space & have to buy a new bike to fill it!

Once Upon a Time

There was a man and his wife who spent many years and many many thousands of dollars doing up their house - Earthquake fucked that in 40 seconds.

Moral of story - keep the bike.

The End.

PS - there will be a sequel to the story, presently the plot is being fleshed out by EQC and the mans insurance company. The man suspects it may take some time to complete the script.

Hiya folks. Thanks for the comments. Yep, Katman has to find someone else to stalk.

Word has it he's no saint when it comes to riding either. :)

Building is expensive and I'm tight on buget and my daughters wedding is coming up as well, so it's a double whammy.

I love riding so much that I hope to be back on a bike as soon as possible. Trouble is they don't make GSX1400's anymore so who knows what it will be. Never found anything better than the 14.

Enjoy Mully :)

And don't you hate it when you hear bikes go past and yours has gone.

I hate when I'm stuck at home and hear/see the bikes go by and mine is in the garage.

Like the others have mentioned, this is a passing moment and before you know it a new bike will grace your garage.

Well, after all of the mentoring that he has given you and that you have not changed your ways, I guess it calls into question his ability as a "mentor"...?

I was very impressed with the Bandit 1250S with its electric motor, awesome torque, precise handling and style! If I thought there was a chance of buying one and still keeping my licence... :innocent:
