I pushed the tyre pressures up two to three psi a week or so back - just to see if it made a difference.

It did.

I find that it has changed how I ride the bike - 'specially in corners. More confidence in the grip and more use of the body.

I suppose it is just that it feels different. The tighter tyre rolls more smoothly from one side to t'other. The transition is smoother and I think this is what feels better. But I hadn't figured on the amount of difference it would make to me personally. The whole thing has just gotten easier.

A quick trip to Kawhia and back yesterday morning demonstrated the change that I had been feeling since the pressure change. There is some pretty rough seal in places on that road and there is the odd bit of debris as well. But the rough road surface was much less noticeable than previously. Which made me feel happier to just go with it and allow the bike to do the work. Much better ride now.

Anyone else made a minor change that had major effects?

Yeah! I stopped answering the phone when 'friends' and family who only call when they want something rang it. I have so much free time now, it's astonishing! :woohoo:

I stopped doing a burnout whenever Keiran suggested I should and as a result trebbled the life of my rear tyres. It seems two year olds have no concept of saving money.

I went to Metzler lasertechs and now need to look at replacing the rear 3000 k later, so it's getting more expensive (lots of grip too)

A number of times I have had my tyres done at a local bike shop & on occasion I have noticed my tyres are under inflated, when I spoke to the workshop staff their reaction was always " We always set tyre PSI at 36 " my reaction " But Honda workshop manual says 42 PSI " the 6 PSI diff is HUGE !!! Now I always make sure that they set them up at 42 because I really do notice the differance
