Hey i was planning on putting a screaming demon MC22 exhaust on mine over the summer, you'll need to cut the exhaust off and weld on a flange onto your exhaust, you can than bolt on an MC22 exhaust straight onto the flange.
I ordered the flange in off ebay for $35 last week but than i decided not to go ahead with it. The flange is still on the way here from aus but if you want it you can have it for $30 since i dont really need it anymore.
I also bought a derestricted CDI for my bike, still havnt got it yet but cant wait :D

also what about the airflow? will i need new jets? and how about the fittings? will it actually fit on? or will i need to make new brackets?

Don't bother putting an aftermarket muffler on it, just drill some holes in it. Check out the Club 250 forum and have a look what I did on mine. It sounds really nice.

you may need to get the jetting done but when i asked the screaming demon guys they said i shouldnt need to tune it. yeah it will fit right assuming you get it done professionally since they need to align it properly and clean the pipes before welding just so that it isnt leaning off to one side and it welds on properly.
i was gonna check the jetting anyway after i put the exhaust on and get the valve clearances checked and carbs cleaned while i was at it. i doubt the jettings need to be changed but they arnt too expensive to do if you do it yourself.
lol DAMNIT you're tempting me to do it!!! agh lol yeah i really wanna upgrade my exhaust but i cant seen to decide if i should do it or save up for my next bike.

yeah only do that if you're planning on losing craploads of value on it when you come to sell it. while aftermarket exhaust tend to actually keep their value.

I won't lose any money on it come sale time, these bikes sound like a typical tinny little Jappa till you mod the exhaust. You'll have a bit more enthusiasm when you hear just how good my bike sounds now. It's not overly noisy, it just sounds awesome!

Either way I HAVE to replace the MC19 exhaust. the current one is a bit scratched up. Just weighing up my options,
Is it cheaper to:
A, Just replace the exhaust with another Stock MC19 system
or
B, Cut the end, weld a flange on and chuck an MC22 or after market exhaust on

an after market branded exhaust will be around $400 installed, i have no idea how much another stock mc19 system would cost though, you'd have to call up a few wreckers and see

well i know that a new Exhaust system for an MC19 is around $200 for a nice conditioned second hand one.
I dont really mind going second hand Stock but i would prefer an aftermarket Exhaust for a little bit extra.

its really up to you mate, the reason i wanted to change mine was just for the extra sound and looks, my one is abit scratched and slightly dented from leaning too far on the track

well it shouldnt take more than a couple of hours to do max, any exhaust place should be able to do the job. lol you're making me reconsider buying a new exhaust for my bike, ah well you can have it and i'll order another one in if i decide to buy it. The only 2 exhausts that i was keen on buying were these 2 http://tyga-performance.com/site/product_info.php?cPath=72_81_145&products_id=1109 and http://screamingdemon.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=190_193_416
there are 5 screaming demon's that will work so take your pick, or you could go for a cheap one off ebay, but i liked those ones cause of their quality and they are straight through race cans so more power!!!

yeah the long one's are way too long for the bike the one i was gonna get was the carbon shorty just keep in mind the shorter it is the louder and carbon fiber is louder than steel. yeah the rest you can do but you should take the exhaust in with you so that they line it up with the bike, you could prob even bolt the flange onto the exhaust before hand and give it to them as one piece to that its easier to line up.

Haha oh mint! you could end up with two Flanges!
I could always reccord it and chuck it up on Youtube?
it should take around a week to two weeks to get the exhaust.. and then the labour to put it on will cost around 100-120 bucks
so all up around 500 to 550...

It's not worth the money doing exhaust mods to this bike. Drill a few holes in the exhaust like I did, and spend the money you saved on petrol or a new set of rubbers for the bike.

lol yeah he isnt the best, he usually sells the flanges with the exhaust, but he sold my this one as a one off so i asked him if he sold the bolts and he said "sure do i'll throw some in for you" but i guess he forgot. i would actually be surprised if the exhaust came without the bolts, usually when you buy something it comes with everything needed to get it working (providing you have a bike lol) like when you bought the fairings it came with screws and bolts and things right?

It was idling high and the camera I used to film it didn't pick the sound up properly, so it sounded way better IRL than in the video. Well worth doing, and the way I did it wasn't excessively loud. I suggest you use a big drill bit, and try putting just a few holes in to start with, then adding more later if you want.
I suggest you use a centre punch to indent the exhaust first, and make a small pilot hole so your drill bit doesn't slip and make a mess of it.

Awesome. probly use a nail or somthing to pilot the holes and get them nice and evenly spaced.. make it look like its supposed to be there. any issues with wof's? or metal shavings falling inside the pipe? ill start with 2 or 4 and see how that goes. cant get the bike out for a while though unfortunately. ill trygive it a go this weekend or next and let you know the results :)

Not at all. Just take your time and do a tidy job. Line the holes up properly with a ruler or something to make it look at standard as possible.

Nope. fuel pump has previously been replaced on this one. rewired it back into the CDI while it was apart though as the guy who did it put it on a switch
Was the Regulator that had gone.. it ended up exploding the new battery i put in and took out my indicator relay as well. 2nd new battery, new regulator and new CDI all in now.

lol, on my mc19 I just got rid of all the metal between the bigger outer exit pipe and the smaller inner one. This improved the sound and slight performance boost we felt. prob just being louder made it feel better.
anyway, didnt bother with pilot holes etc. wof wont notice if its clean enough. just drilled all of it out.
bound to get metal shavings down in there, where do u think the metal is gonna go? but i started it up and revved it up and shavings were flying out the back so most of it should blow out..
anyway, twas a fine mod. I def would not spend any money on an exhaust system etc.. still prob gonna sound like a sewing machine on steroids.
