I'm struggling with selling this bike, but it's physically a little small for me and I want to go back to a simpler bike. It's a Jap import, first registered in 05 but an 04 model which means it's one of 400 built. The Thunderbird Sport is the Thunderbird to own with twin discs, fully adjustable suspension, a 6 speed gearbox (which it doesn't need, HUGE torque) and more power than standard - mine puts out just over 80 bhp at the rear wheel compared to 82 standard and 67 for the basic Thunderbird.
I have fitted a set of Harris pipes, modded the airbox and fitted a K&N filter, so it goes really well. It pulls smoothly from 2000 RPM in top with no snatching and is a dream at 100 - 140 kmh - above that and you become a windsock. I've bobbed the rear guard and fitted a replica Lucas tail light, and it gets a hell of a lot of comments and looks and is great reflected in shop windows.
It has a brand new Metzler Z6 Roadtec on the front and a Bridgestone Battlax BT021 on the back with about 2000 ks. I change the oil (synthetic) every 5000 ks and it had all new fluids including fork oil at 8000 ks (when I got it). And it's registered to 27 june 2011.
It's a bloody brilliant bike and i'm not fussed if it doesn't sell but I'd be keen to swap it for a Guzzi, an air head BMW or maybe a GSX1400/CB1300 or similar. Cash either way.
