Um, any provision for kids to potter while mum's riding and dad's making tea?

I'm not proposing to dump my dearest with the kids for the day, but without entertainment they can be a PITA. And if she damages herself, somebody has to drive her home, so I volunteer to be pit bitch. And drink tea.

Do they do anything like this further south?

I'd LOVE to do something like this, but Waihi is a heck of a drive... I'd have to get up at 1am :bleh:

I hear what you're saying so I've tried to cater for this. It's a long weekend (Easter) so you could leave the Friday and you're more than welcome to camp overnight at the track both Friday and Saturday night at no charge. Then make your way home on the Monday.
You will have to bring your own supplies as I'll only have portaloos and running water available.
It might be a good opportunity for you to spend some time exploring the Waihi area, check out the mine and go for a swim at the beach. There are even mineral pools in the area if its cold.

Here's a website on the area: www.waihi.org.nz

There's going to be a Club Day on the Sunday, 24th April (following day from Dirt Diva Day) so if theres any other family or friends that wanted to get a ride in that weekend they can.

The cost of the Club Day is $20 for non-members, $10 for Juniors. If you're a member of Blackhill then it is $10 for Adults and $5 for Juniors. If you'd like to join the Club then PM me.

I'm limiting numbers on the Dirt Diva Day (not the Club Day) so if you're interested I suggest you email me at luanapayne@hotmail.com so that I can put you on the distribution list to receive a registration form as its first on a first in pre-paid and signed up basis.

Also join the Facebook page for more updates: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Dirt-Diva-Day/192957497386471

At this stage there isn't any kids area as its a day for ladies 10 year olds and over but I'll speak to the Club Committee and see if we can look at an area that can be used but it wouldn't be supervised or marshalled.

In saying that some of the suppliers might have demo bikes for children so I'd bring their gear if you have room in the car just in case they can sneek in a test ride

There's going to be a Club Day on the Sunday.

Just had confirmation today that the kids track will be open but will require your own supervision

They will have the kids track open on the Club Day. There is also a Club Day being held on the 6th March if anyone would like to try the track out earlier.

Contact email address for Dirt Diva Day is luanapayne@hotmail.com

When: 6th March 2011 and 24th April 2011

Sign on: 9.00-9.45am
Riders breifing: 10am
Classes are dependent on the numbers on the day.

Non-members: Adults $20, Juniors $10
Club members: Adults $10, Juniors $5

We'll have a kids pewee class again depending on the numbers on the day. If this class is small then we run this class while the seniors stop for lunch. We'll have a juniors class 65cc and up wards also included in the program.

Our club days are more fun based than racing as we want to get everyone including the mums and dads to have a go. We aim it at having fun and giving it a go rather than racing hard out.

The track is natural terrain with well bermed corners with a couple of bypass pieces to shorten or lengthen the track. Surface is hard clay with few rutts. Challenging at speed but a great learning environment for beginners. It’s handy to town with spectacular views of surrounding hills and the gold mine right next door. Go onto Google Maps and click satellite to download a course aerial shot.

If you would like to know more about joining the Black Hill Motocross Club please contact Rick Adams at radams2@macmahon.com.au or 021957127
