May have a need soon for a new commuter bike, and I can't possibly get rid of the GSX-R600 Race bike.... options options :scooter:
Anyone got any positive or negative thoughts on the options above, or even alternatives?
Cheers

DR 650 for all-round duty - KLR for added adventure touring bias.
The 400 for mainly city work

if its for commuting why would you want to pay the extra rego for the 650s?

The 400 is pretty fun.
My 2 cents. (Coming from a 636 too).

An NC30 seems like a very fun way of getting to work. Reasonably cheap to buy, and rubbers don't cost a fortune for them either. They tend to hold their resale value quite well.

I was going to say 400[with mods] all the way, but that 650[with mods] looks pretty tasty!

Yep. The drop in rego to a 400 is certainly an attraction now though. It's worth noting that in comparing the above bikes for commuting, the 650's have more reliable & heavily built motors than the DRZ if you plan to really rack up the kms.
With a 21" front wheel & knobs the DRZ is a good honest trailbike too, something the 650's are a bit heavy for. However if you want to go tour the Sth Is etc the 650's are the shizz.
Cheers
