New reduced price $8500 ono - make an offer.
1999 Buell X1 Lightning regretfully for sale. Getting wed next year and the missus says it has to go.
New WOF, new 6 mths rego. Imported last year by emoto from Japan and we have only done a few thousand km's on it since. Have slightly modified by removing the big bulky air box - see pics. It's apparently got a race chip in it but this has not been verified so no need to declare to insurers. ;)
Runs sweet as a nut and sounds wicked thanks to a custom exhaust. Starts first time, every time. Had all gaskets replaced when puchased from emoto October 2009 and a new ignition fitted in January 2010 so good to go.
Nice bike and reluctant sale especially as these are now going to become collectors items.
Happy for any viewing but no tyrekickers or testpilots please. No funds, no test drive.
Call Rich on 03 3129071 with any questions. Bike is in North Canterbury but can bring into Christchurch to view if necessary.
$9000 firm.

Seriously man, whilst a bike isn't exactly an asset, its sure more valuable than pissing away the $9000 on an over priced wedding .
Ohhh that's right you only get married once! Hopefully that's true, but the reality is that's a bullshit line that wedding marketters invented to get people to spend ridiculous amounts of money on what in reality is nothing more than a party. and that's coming from a person who actually beleives in marriage and weddings vows. Not some tired old synic
You want some really good advice, keep the bike, reign back the expense of the wedding and set yourselves up for a life of living within your means instead of keeping up with the Jones. Follow this financial advice and hopefully you can avoid one of the major causes of stress and divorce, financial stess.
Rant OVER
BTW I like the bike in yellow.

Wedding is over in a day, the bike could see you out for the rest of your riding days and when kids and the rest come along you may not have the $$ to get another bike for many years.
My wedding cost 3 grand and it was great, it's not how much you spend but how special you make it and sometimes making it special is through thought and effort not money.

Jo here - and I set up the account, fyi. Rich only got into biking because of me, if that's pussy whipped, then he's happy to be so.
Bike is for sale cos we just don't use it. It's going to waste sitting in the garage as it's not suitable for two up riding and we argue over who gets the front seat! ;-) He has his heart set on another Ninja and I am getting myself a Fazer next year.
Let that be the end to the speculation about why WE are selling. The bike is in both our names.

I have seen and heard this bike, well actually I rode down with them to Wanaka and back for the airshow ;)
Lovely machine, well worth a look if you're in the market for a Buell.
