Yep, it happened if I wasnt so busy lining up for the corner I could say it was fun. Picture this, me toodling along, old couple in front, (holy hell, mother of slowness, someone that is slower than me in front) So I do the only logical thing , drop down a gear and nail it. Well I must of got a little carried away with the throttle hand as I went past the old couple on one wheel. Not sure who was more concerned. I tell a lie, it was def me, just about crapped myself. The wheel came down, the bars gave a little wiggle and I dived into the corner. This all happened quicker than I can say shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...........tttttttttttt. But Im pretty sure that was the word I used at the time. Where it happened is what is the tricky bit. Those who ride out Kaiawa will follow, where you turn off the straights along the coast and head back into Highway 2 (think it is). There are acouple of tight corners and a one way bridge. I was in the middle of that just before one of the corners, hehehe.

Congratulations !!!! I haven't even done that yet! Soon, you will be wheelie-green!
May I ask, what gear were you in? Did you back off the throttle the minute the front came up?

As far as I could tell it was straight out power. dont think I was back in the seat. But I did give it a big handful :nono: . I wasnt expecting it, but it was all over in the blink of an eye. Im pretty sure it was second gear.

I'd love to have a bike that could accidently mono. Theres no way it'll happen by mistake on the GSX, takes a whole lotta clutch abuse and a fair amount of arse hanging off the back just to get the nose slightly skyward.

You should have expected that to happen on the bike you ride, Mr Speedy
Practice on a crapped out dirt bike before you try for another gear, or you may smash that green machine
I know I cant do it... and crashed many crapped out dirt bike

The whole point of riding the road bke is because I got sick of riding dirt bikes. Plus it was becoming increasingly hard to find areas to ride. I did the occasional wheelie on the dirtbike, but never really got into them. I dont plan to start now.
Just was caught off guard, it does happen.
Oh, and who is Mr Speedy, Ive never met him in here?

speedmedic? dunno if he can wheelie or not..
I managed to do my first 'almost-throttle' ballanced wheelie the other night. Went up high, and kept going, so I backed off the throttle a little, and it stayed there.. then went down. Albeit a few seconds or so, but it's higher than I've got before.. just need more practice, but way off those like Death, WT, LB, DSS3 and 'D' at the moment.. It's good fun, i love it

A 636 is born to lift... not that anyone wants it to happen to them when they least expect it tho..
Just remember to keep the back brake covered 'just incase' it happens again. At least Im in no immediate danger when it comes to the 'Busa, shes too heavy to lift up unless you order her too..

My 636 has now done 3.5k and its starting to wheelie of the throttle in 1st, 2ed, and up a hill in 3rd, and I love it...Oh how I love it. never tried it along a one way bridge next to some grays before though... very creative. :headbang:

me thinks I needs to gets more heavy handed withs me bike
the clutch way is doin me fine, but under the power, i gets the tanks slappers to visits.
Under power, is there only a slight chance of the front coming up and keep going up and up? Always afraid of that bit, when it goes up too quick to stop it.. Had that coming out of corners, I back off slightly so the back can't step out or the front rise too much..
I've read a few times that it can be done under the abuse of power. I find the clutch still so much easier and predictable, which is what I'm after at the mo. I'm gettin there..
mono, we need to switch bikes. I wanna see if a broken it 05 is as much of a wuss as the ones I've been riding before..
