View Full Version : Leather pants - shower then stretch?

I have some leather pants that are struggling to contain my man curves.

Is it still a good idea to get them soaking wet and then ride. I was going to hop in a bath then jump on a rowing machine for 1/2 hour.

I figure that afterwards they'll either be stretched or knacked.

Has this approach been poo poo'd for whatever reason(s)?

What you need to do is get a ma(n)s-sage from a greased up strapping lad who can really work oil into all those man curves.

They'll be lovely and supple after that...or more than likely from the running.

I ended up working mine by accident. I got caught in a quick shower and then it got bloody hot so everything sorted itself out.

I couldn't imagine soaking them is a good idea.

Peeing has also been known to work :) Don't they tell you that in the army to sort ya boots out?

I purchased some Dianese leathers from Oz a few years back that were too small,so to stretch them I put tyre tubes inside & inflated them, waited for a week or so & Bobs your aunty
Fitted really well & didnt have to put on wet leathers

I was advised to reduce my man curves - good for my health apparently. :innocent:

I wouldn't sit in a bath with my leathers but rather try and stretch them using some of the methods already described.

What I also noticed is that my leather jacket stretched as my man curves did. Now that I have lost a few kilos my jacket is a tad too big. Any ideas on how to shrink it again?

Although the water technique has been known to help reshape leather, be wary you don't give your 'nads the benz in the process (or remember to have a hot bath or stuff a few socks in the nether-region first) to prevent shrinkage and laughage.

Eat less pies. Failing that, I believe getting them wet and wearing them dry would work, it's worked for me with shoes. You'll probably end up with stained skin from the dyes in the leather, but no difference there from riding in the rain. Good luck ;)

Leave the leather pants in the wardrobe and jump on the rowing machine for 24 hours. You'll be sure to fit them!:msn-wink:

...leather will shrink on drying after you have gone through the bath/ immersion process...your options are limited....my girls been working with leather for 30 years and had this conversation on numerous occasions....so its either break out the rowing machine...or the wallet...

Ha ha ha thanks. They just need to stretch out in a few places is all.

I think I’ll smother them in conditioner and have a burst on the rower. If that doesn’t get it done, I’ll try full wet.

Cheers
