Long story short, I just binned a dirt bike, and there is a fairly deep gash in my knee, which hurts like a bitch. My wrist is also giving me a lot of pain and I've lost a lot of movement in my wrist. Is this something I should see a doctor for?

Don't you dare make an ACC claim and say you were on a dirt bike. Tell them you were on a mountain bike mate.

Yeah - good point! But do go and see a doc to get the injury registered in the ACC system, just in case you end up needing treatment at a later date.

only if you don't know how to fall off properly! Or try things for which you neither have the ability, or the gear for. Speaking of which, can we get the short story long smokeu? Maybe after you go get that shit checked out though...

Mere flesh wound, now HTFU.
Hell, when I was 8 I split my head open on the side of a swimming pool and still got a couple of laps in on the miniature railway train before heading to A&E.

I would definitely take that to the doc - you might need a tetanus shot if you haven't had one recently. If it's a deep puncture wound - which is what the pic looks like - you need to guard against infection as well.
Get it seen to. And yes, tell 'em you fell off a mountain bike...:devil2:

Yeah, that gash would do well to have some stitches. Plus it's always good to have the accident registered with ACC in case you need other treatment in the future. And +1 with Slofox - it's a nasty mountain biking wound

Definitely see a doctor and register it with ACC - you don't want to have problems later that you can't get treated cos it wasn't registered at the time

Some nasty gravel.
After some X rays, knee just has some cosmetic damage, while the hand has frame damage (broken bone). It'll be in a cast for 6 weeks.

on the off chance that this isnt a pisstake...
common sense. yes. see a doctor. last time i refused to see a doctor after binning a bike, my arm swelled up 2 months later, Xrays shpwed I had broken the elbow in three places, and it had gone septic as fuck, with an infection making its way from the break area, up the main artery of my arm.
they put me in a bed immediately and IV drugs were the order of the week. ten days actually. they said it was fucking lucky id gone in and not waited a few days or it could have got really shitty.
short version. 'doctor. now.'

Well I stubbed my little toe on my right foot last night and ripped a bit of nail off, and there was a dot of blood and it really hurt, and so I thought that I might come on KB and ask whether I should get a pedicure done so that no-one notices the bit of missing nail and what colour should I get my toe nails painted.
