It has a de-cat section and less baffles in the cans, but not too noisy....I'm not sure whether it's standard air filter or not to be honest as I've done so much...no commander though, it's quick enough without that...if you're on the track then yes!

I'm so surprised at the "Biking Community" over here, or what seems to be a lack of it!!
What is the issue? We all have our own preferences, styles, likes and dislikes...but what is to be gained by trashing or passing derogatory comments on peoples bikes?
It's obvious that a lot of work has gone into this bike and should be appreciated as such....whether it's your thing or not!!
I love it and there are others that do, that's what really matters...
So as I've said if you have nothing constructive to say what is the purpose of saying it, ask yourself that question?

The standard forks are the lighter shade of gold like most of the extras I've put on, same as the cans which are all gold tint rather than silver/black.

Hey. Gorgeous bike. I think the reason there are no bites is that most have learnt the lesson of "if it sounds too good" plus the idea that parts added on do not become "value added to the bike" i.e. make it worth more.
How long have you had it? Who was the previous owner/ where did you get it from? How many kms did it have when you bought it? Why does it have a spare swing arm?

Thanks. I realise you don't necessarily transfer the bling costs to the valuation of the bike, which is why it's not up at $25k....I think the asking price is more than reasonable for what you're getting.....look at the cost of a new bike, without the bling or the peripherals...OK this has a few k's on the clock but the condition is as close to new as you'd want to be.
As for "too good to be true", all I will say is your welcome to check it over for yourself, there's absolutely nothing to hide.
I've had the bike about 2.5 years and it was bought in the UK from a guy near Derby, it had approx 4500 miles when I bought it.
The reason for the spare swing arm was because I bought a brand new one to replace the one that was on....the original got marked, only small but it was marked, my fault as when I replaced the rear sets with a cheap gold alternative (not the ones that are on it now) they had no fixing point for the exhaust heat shield which then rubbed against the swing arm and marked it.
Hope that answers your questions!
So rather than bodge it I got a brand new one. Thought about shot blasting the spare and polishing it up then gold plating it, but I thought that would be too much!!

Good luck with the sale dude, but as they say in the Castle "tell him he's dreaming"
I paid $13000 for a 2008 with 7000kms on the clock, admittedly standard but apart from blingage yours is to
a 2004 with nearly 20kms at $15500 I think you might struggle but Im sure someone will love it enough to buy it but you will be waiting a while I suspect.

Thanks for your comments....Everyone seems to forget what I'm including with this sale as well. The bike with the exception of the k's on the clock is not like a bike of its age or running.
This would not look out of place in a showroom....all in all it is bloody good value for the money, you couldn't get close to anything like this for a fraction of the price.
But as you point out, I suspect you are right in some ways and no one seems willing to pay for something like this which makes me think it is not appreciated as quite a few comments passed already indicate. Well the difference is that Kiwi camaraderie is a great deal more robust that in the UK.
For instance "Piss swilling Pommy faggot" could be a term of mateship

While I am happily tweaking and adjusting and modding my Hornet I am realistic about the added value of any modifications I do. The cost is never represented when you come to sell it.
In fact there are very few modifications that add extra appeal to a used bike over one of the same year, kms etc that is stock standard - usually that is a after market pipe (the most common extra). Fancy suspenders would be another value added extra. By value added it is not going to add much to the sale price but most likely to improve the ability of the bike to sell quicker.
Often the alteration on a bike is wrongly seen by a prospective buyer as a potential problem and there is a preference to stock standard. Now I personally like to treat a new bike as a work in progress but many do not.
To the OP, I'd seriously consider returning the bike to close to stock, lowering the price to something realistic then flicking off the extra goodies on Trademe unit by unit.
Now I hope you understand that this opinion of mine is given with the best intentions of aiding a fellow motorcyclist.
PS - I like my Honda better - but that is just personal taste.

No, it was advertised as the ultimate R1 + - complete package.
It was also claimed to better than any other bike on this forum.
It was originally pointed out that these claims were bullshit, and the price was a little steep for mods that were truthfully only to appeal to one person's aesthetic tastes, rather than any improvement in handling or performance. Then the OP pitched a hissy fit.
It's all been rather amusing.

You could get $10K for the bike, and $7K for the goodies (if they are worth 15K).

You could get $10K for the bike, and $7K for the goodies (if they are worth 15K).
Not my taste of bike - and easily worth 15K for the person who's taste it is...... but that could just be the current owner....who knows.
I just sold my 2008 ZX10 with over $13k worth of accessories blah blahs...for $12,500.
You're right in saying the R1 owner could/should take it back to stock as the 'extras' don't make it 'worth' much more...at all.
Things are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them eh :sunny:

So what you're saying is that, in your posted opinion, we shouldn't have an opinion and post it?
Acknowledgement of your own hypocrisy isn't mitgation of it.
No just saying there's no need to slag off someones choice of bike if your not even remotely interested in buying it, post was an advert - not hey what do you all think of my bike. If you saw it with a for sale sign on at the servo would you all tap him on the shoulder and tell him what a POS you thought it was? Its only the internet so I guess its Ok to be an asshole.

Can you please link the posts where someone calls his bike a pos, or slags off his choice of bike. Some people have questioned the price, some have questioned the 'bling', but no one has called it a piece of shit or slagged it off directly.
