View Full Version : Cyclespot Honda's workshop has not changed. It is still 100% shit.

Don't go there.
Their sales team however are excellent. Unfortunately for them the workshop has put me off ever spending money with them!
I was going to ask who else has had continued shit service from them, but from informal discussions with the bikers i know it seemed to me that no one has had acceptable service from them.
So the question is, has anyone had good experience with the WORKSHOP? Forget sales or parts for now.

no.
I gave them another chance but they are still shit.
Like you said parts and sales are fine but i won't be spending any money with them any time soon.

can you elaborate?
Is it the price? is it the time they take? Is it their attitude? Is it the quality of the work? Do they fix stuff that didn't need fixing?
Or is it all of the above?

I took my cb400n there for an insurance job late last year. Three weeks later I get a phone call, they have ordered the wrong parts. Three more weeks pass and the correct parts arrive.
-Several weeks later and after many, many follow up calls by myself and others (I did not have a land-line at the time) I get my bike back.
-I get the bike home and notice that one of my indicators is taped to my motorcycle. Evidently they had not noticed a broken indicator at the time of their ordering of parts (the SECOND time around). Their reasoning was that they assumed it to not have been part of the crash damage (without the tape this indicator was hanging by a single wire...)
-After some initial suspicion my worries are confirmed. My forks were not straight. This was the main reason the bike was in the shop and it was fairly obvious that they were still bent. My friends first assumed that the triple clamp was out of alignment or somesuch thing, but no. We could not physically get the forks to fit in alignment, so it would have been plainly obvious to them that they had not finished the job.
-Handlebars were still bent (albeit ever so slightly, they were not bent before the crash).
-They had installed a clutch cable that was too short, thus it was running along a header pipe.
Completely unacceptable that they would hand back my bike in the state that it was in. After having a rant at my insurer about them, I am offered a new inspection by the company. They confirm the shit job that cyclespot had done and pass my bike onto Coleman's Suzuki, who did a superb job in fixing my bike up for me.
Turns out that in the months that my bike was with cyclespot, they had spent a total of 3 hours working on it. NEVER AGAIN. I'm not surprised to hear that they're still fucking up.

I dont understand one thing....
Why the fuck do you guys keep coming back there?????
Either learn to DIY (if you dont trust anybody like i do) or if you have no time/space find private mechanic...
but dont expect shit service somewhere to improve by itself...

So what work did they do RM ? Change the little flouro flag you have or change the tassles in your handle bars? Come on bro you can tell me , no-one else will know.

Can you elaborate on who AJ is?
AJ owns and runs Motohaus in Kingsland. Shares the building with KTL Bikes.
Because when you're going to pay $80/hr for someone to work on your bike(s), you want a good mechanic to work on your bike. Not some useless, halfwit "apprentice" who doesn't have a sodding clue what they're doing, or care that they're working on someone else's pride and joy.

They offered a free service for both bikes, that was the only reason i went back.
I don't have the time to do DIY nor the experience to work on them.
I have now found a good place and have no problems so far.

I had excellent service from them.... and they called me several times to let me know what was happening and to okay things with me.
Maybe because I am a girl and they were worried I would cry?
Seriously, I thought Glen was very helpful and I am taking my bike for a WOF and service in a couple of weeks.
Oh yeah, they are doing the service as my bike is under warranty so obviously I can't do it myself.

Everyone from time to can have an issue with any of the bike shops around the country...
Scott just has more trouble with most of them, I saw him once at Cycletreads, he wheeled is bike in and they asked him to wheel it straight back out again:facepalm:

Has to be serviced as per the service book/warranty and be recorded by an authorised dealer - last time I checked, the garage under my house was not an authorised motorcycle workshop

This is not a one off bad experience. I wouldn't not make a thread like this unless it was far to late to ever convince me to go back.
I had shit service when I brought in my gpz1000 many years ago.
I had shit service a few years after that on my zxr250.
My mate had shit service there with a fzr250
Magua had shit service at the end of last year with his cb400.
I have had shit service there now.
This has been going on for years.

Same here.
When I first bought the VFR, I had plans of getting them to do my maintenance. By the time I'd actually picked the bike up, I'd decided to never spend any more money there. Their attitude to customers is mercenary and suckful.
It's their loss; I've spent probably close to $10k elsewhere in the last 6 years.

Sorry if i decided to give them a 2nd or 3rd chance. Staff change over the course of 7 years, the service at cyclespot doesn't.
and tbh i totally forgot about magua's recent experience. and belive me i complained to the boss, the very next day i was mislead again.

I've never had a problem with their sales team. In fact, they've pretty much guaranteed that the next bike I add to my collection will be a VFR800 (I must be getting old! ;)).
In the past I've also had them import a low-km tidy VFR400R from Japan for me at a verrry reasonable price, and had nothing but excellent service from their sales team throughout the process.
However I've never trusted their workshop for any major work, after some of the horror stories I've heard from their friends. Besides, as I've found a excellent mechanic already, there is no reason for me to risk taking my bikes anywhere else.

Shit man, cyclespot rock. Excellent service, they gave me a loan bike (a late model fireblade), groomed my bike, kept me informed the whole way through and all at a very reasonable cost and free coffee to boot.
Best of all, they are up for a bit of haggling on the pre agreed price. Saved me a lot of dosh.
Perhaps they just thought you were a cunt and try and rubbish them on the internet?
