About the same as having a de-tuned 675 triple without fairings?... :innocent:

p/t you striple fanatics, just a fuckin p/t

....Seriously, there is no point!!!!

ok ive got one and these are the only pluses i see
1.i can put 48 stubbys and two bags of ice under the seat
2.if i am drunk i need not worry having to think about the extra concentration to change gear
3.my mother rests easy knowing im only travelling round on a scooter
4.burn outs are a breeze

Go to Paris or Rome, then maybe you see the point. Nobody builds bikes especially for NZ

Heaps of points.
Fuel economy - 70mpg, two up with luggage.
Reasonably maintainance free - no chain to lube every day.
Pretty good all day comfort for two people.
Luggage carrying - we used to fit a week's food shopping in the cavern under the seat and a top box. We didn't have a car.
Weather protection.
Things don't wear out fast. Tyres last for ages, and don't cost a fortune.

They're a tool for a job. I would far rather ride a big auto moped to work and back every day than my real motorbike. I wouldn't ride one for weekend pleasure rides, but that's probably not what they're for.

I can see myself riding one when I'm 70 and too scared to throw a leg over a bike in case my leg separates at the hip and flies off into the bushes.

My mates dad has a friend who used to ride bikes but then something happened to his foot or leg or something which meant he couldn't change gear easily. He got a 600 cc scooter and reckons its as much fun as bikes used to be.

:shit: My Dad is 67 and has had a double hip replacement - he can still throw his leg over his BMW - and it is a tall bike.

I have a friend who rides a 250cc scooter as she had a lower back fusion and needs a step-thru as she can't raise her leg high enough.

:puke: that is an image that is sticking in my mind :argh:

Not my cup of tea but I have a friend with one and he doesn't need a great big bag stuffed on the back of hiis bike!!!!!!!

So... Mr OP. Heaps of points. Trade in time eh? The one consolation is that there's heaps of plastic for Eddie decals

In Japan it made a shitload of sense to me.
They were fucken cool.

223837

They had big bores and sounded mean......but were auto so good in quick zips around the block to get the milk/beer/porn.........and were comfy so you felt good in your commute.

I took one for a blat and didn't understand the point of sub 400cc scooters afterwards.

The Missus has just got her license, and is making noises about a future Burgman. I know it's probably only going to be used to communting, but it just seems so ....... weak.

To be completely honest, i'd rather just an old banger of a GN, at least I could have some fun on that!

I don't see the point of a 400cc scooter, but the big Burger 650 really impresses me and if my wife liked them I'd probably have got one. However she much prefers the C50T for style! Not complaining, mind, I love the Boulevard myself!

Think of them as a smaller GoldWing tourer...

Yeh man, Ive followed his "ginormousness" around a few places, not least of all, all the way to Rotorua IN THE RAIN for charity. I agree he needs something a little more "accomodating" (If you know what I mean).

Big scooters are great, only negative is the riding position, you feel like you are sitting on the shithouse!

Other than that, they are great and really rider friendly.

You might try taking a 650 Bergman on from a standing start, "prepare to be embarrassed" if you do!

but reluctantly.

I hear Boulevard voices in my head....C50.......C50......C50 or M50.......M50 but tending toward a C version. Off to the dealers in an hour to sort the matter out!!

Still, being a man of the poeple, i've got my self image to worry about it.

Lets face facts here. They just aren't very cool.

Apart from those mental Japanese ones.

Has no one mentioned GP800 to you yet?

Good point. Big scooters are easier to handle for old farts than some relatively small but tall bikes. If it came town to riding a scooter or giving up two wheels I'd go for the scooter.

That may seem hypothetical but for some people it's a very real situation.

After some very slack Google searching, i've come to the conclusion that our interpretations of "cool" are at very different ends of the spectrum.

I have a friend who had a back fusion and it was a scooter or nothing....
her ex-husband told her she couldn't do it so of course she had to do it!

Way better than not being able to ride at all. If I was told tomorrow that I couldn't ride a 'real bike' again but could ride a mega-scoot, it would be a no-brainer.

Cool, so mega-scoots aren't fashionable then?

I was looking at an XT660X but someone said they were fashionable bikes.

I've got these on my watchlist
