25000kms engine completely rebuilt 3000km ago as previous owner bought it from a dealer and still had it under waranty, very tidy condition, very reliable, has about 11months on rego and 5 months of wof, had new rubber on about 6 months ago, electric start, starts first time everytime, only trouble is sometimes in the cold it has a little trouble idling, but you just have to hold the throttle on a tiny bit at the lights when it's cold and once you get used to it, it isn't a problem at all, otherwise a very good bike! oh and i want $1500 for it and it's in dunedin

Its a very good bike for beginning on, after a while it gets a bit slow when you wanna go on m/way or live in the contry like i have been last week.
your price is about right, id say only diffuculty youll have in selling is that its in dunedin, so if you awnna get into biking and living in dunedin id def grab this

$2000 if you know where to look :niceone: it's actually an 89 but is in immaculate condition and has had a new engine and tyres, handgrips put on it, so is pretty much like a brand new one

yeh id do one of those VIR(?) things, costs like 25bucks it'll show you if theres any owing and pretty much makes sures the ks are genuine
id also make sure its got a WOF and give it a test ride before you buy, i always like buying from dealers just because you get a warranty but for 2grand its a steal, as long as its decent of course

VT250 = excellent choice.

I've got a 88 vt250 (spada) bloody good so far, will sit on 100km/h and overtaking up to 140km/h no worries. really fun to ride and throw through the corners, lots of clearance, i've not come even close to scraping the pegs and i've hit the edge of the tyres!! It's so much fun riding this bike.

I had the rear shock re-built because when i got it...bouncey bouncey down the road...not fun at all. $250

Put new thicker oil in the front shocks, made a heap of difference. stopped the seals weaping and made it much more stable, when braking it use to sort of grab and dive when braking, now solid as.

I've changed to rear sprocket two teeth smaller to get less revs at 100km/h, made heaps of difference and i dont feel like i'm reving the crap out of it all day.

Being an old bike and it has sat around too many years doing nothing, the fuel tank is pretty rusty inside, I put a small fuel filter on it to stop all the rust flakes entering the carbs etc.

not too much really... for $2850 about 6 months ago.
