A lot of the GT was from Kadet parts bins. A neighbour of mine in London had one, he bent it quite seriously and I stole the engine out of it to stick in my Opel Manta, which had the opposite problem. 1900cc, similar antecedence to the engine later seen here in the Torana. The Opel unit was much higher compression though, which was a problem for me later when leaded fuel became very scarce.

My understanding was that it was vague in the front, when you could keep it on the ground. Not a nice bike to ride, until the straights where it was like cheating.

All I know was how cool that thing was when it went pasteing past us mere spectators. First time I saw it was at the IOM in 93 with Shaun riding. It went past once and seemed to have electrical gremlins every time it got up the top of the mountain. Shaun will have the info on that but we went to a static display in some shop in Douglas and the team person there was telling us about it. He told us they were wrapping the ECU in copper sheet or somesuch cos they believed it was interference from all the transmitters up in the hills.
Still, it was the talk of the town, literally.

After moving three houses with twin complete bottom ends, I scrapped them sorry man.

That frame looks to be unaltered from those pics. MVX won't fit in a VT...but I owned and never rode an MVX with a 500 Titan motor shoe horned in it.

I found it mesmorising - had to pause every few seconds for a good study of the bike (and enjoyed the obvious nervousness of the rebuilder regarding the "$50,000 crankshaft.")

Ny VFR750 was "granite blue metallic", which looked black, unless the sun was on it, or you looked at it from a different angle, when it could be blue-ish (from the metalflake), or even greenish-black. IIRC What happens behind the scenes is that each photon absorption results in an electron being promoted to a more energetic shell in the atom. Some infinitesimal time later some or all of these electrons fall back to a less energetic shell and a photon is emitted.
