There was heaps of them. The Goldwing Riders AGM was in town:

A goldwing and rocket III roadster are examples that prove the height of the centre of mass of a vehicle is far more important than the total.
I can check 'em around great. The only time I notice the weight is with feet on the ground - and then it has reverse.

have a mate and his missus with the group, great to see the wings in a group, yeh 600 000 miles done on a wing, wonderful, 450, 000 miles looked after not unknown.

yep agree, they dont feel weighty at all, center of gravity is low, and they maneuver really well at slow speeds. you tend to sit in the bike, not on it, which probably makes the rider look a little awkward, but it works, I've never regretted owning one, cover long distance effortlessly.

Hard to imagine 1974 as the first release of the lead sled. Time's gone quickly.

I had one of the early 1000cc ones and used it for commuting around London. It wasn't like nimble but it could be hustled. You could also keep a deceptively high average speed cross country bearing in mind respect for absence of ground clearance.

Yep. That was the group doing F Troop. Averaged 32 bikes per day to Auckland
