It was an awesome weekend for me, the weather was good, tracks were dry. Only the southern branch was open due to a slip at the start of the northern end (meant to be cleared away in the next couple of weeks, according to the doc guy at the gate, should be open by the next weekend). Met Jatz and Mrs Jatz :wavey: Camped next to the palmers hut at the end of the southern branch. A few pics

I'll do a RR sorta thing over on my other thread,
Did you get to Quil flat Cromagnon ? We rode down Seymor or Herring or Heron stream ( seems to have a couple of names) to the Clarence and got to Quail flat that way.

No didnt make it to quil flat, just looked at the locked gate and turned back. On sunday morning we spent a few hours exploring the river system near palmers bivy (we couldnt actually find where it was). Were you able to get to where the slip was?

Thanks, I would definitely recommend heading in there when it is open, well worth the trip.

The locked gate was due to the landslide of a hill on the northern branch/past quail flat which meant we couldnt go up that way. I will probably head back in feburary to check out the stuff i didnt see. The slip was meant to be cleared by the next open weekend (Early Jan) but I would check with doc before leaving home. There is still plenty to do without that part being open.
