Just wondering what most of you are up to over the Christmas Holiday Period?.
My partner and l will be heading down Sth for 2 weeks leaving Boxing Day so l am really looking forward to my 1st bike trip down there.
We are hoping to do between 300-350 k's a day with heading off each day as soon as its daylight.
This will be my 1st year in missing out on Wanganui Street Races :( and also the Tri-Series so for those of you who are either competing in the Races or spectating Enjoy yourselves And a Merry Christmas to you all.
Stay Safe.

Day one: From Dunedin heafing to Central Otago Alexandra via Manuka gorge Roxburgh and into Alexandra.
Day two: Alexandra, Cromwell, Tarras Nighthawk shoots off way ahead of Xaria and over the Lindis, as Xaria approachs the Lindis pass, Nighthawk is now heading back through and passes Xaria going the other way, Xaria shaking her head as Nighthawk turns and ready to do the Lindis Pass one more time... over the Lindis in to Omarama, up past the lakes, small detour to Aoraki Mt Cook. Through Dovers Pass and Simons Pass continuing to Burkes Pass and in to Geraldine.
Day Three: From Gerladine, up to Mayfield and Methven on the old tate highway route 72 through the Rakaia Gorge on to SH73 into Springfield. Over Aurthurs Pass and continue to the Wet coast... following SH6 or Glacier Highway and down to Hokitika to Fox...
Day Four: Continue down the coast to Haast, and over the Haast Pass to Wanaka and back to Cromwell and Alexandra
Day Five: Back to Dunedin most likely Pig Route and then through Middlemarch, Outram 3 Mile Hill.
Not much really...
All this to avoid family over christmas... hehehehe  :innocent::woohoo:

+1 But only 12 hour shifts and off on New years eve.

Daylight down here on boxing day is 04:42, with sunrise at 05:47. You may find the petrol stations don't open for a couple of hour after daylight.
On the plus side you'll manage those 300 - 350 kms before breakfast.

Hopefully I'll be working, well apart from the stats, Its been feast or famine all year and we have had quite a few weeks with zero income.
So, make hay while the sun shines as they say.
That aside, The kids are starting to buzz about Christmas so that's a great thing to be part of. Getting excited by the xmas decorations apearing around town, been writing letters to Santa.
Its all good.

No plans. Mrs Oakie working. No visitors coming apart from daughter, her partner and unborn grandchild for 4 days.
I'll probably take a sizeable chunk out of earthquakle repairs to the exterior of the house. I bought an angle grinder today to help knock cracked mortar from between the concrete blocks of the house and garage prior to re-mortaring and repainting the whole freaking lot. Merry Xmas Santa. Up yer bum! (unless you bring me a water-blaster)
