How would that even stay on four wheels?

It's good that he made an effort to sell the car, especially in photo 6.

Do people not like to see a clean and tidy vehicle when looking to purchase anymore?

Unfortunately I think you will find most of those 'old school' cars on trademe have red neck owners that speak a special kind of dialect to fellow 'bogans'.

My sister in law was allowed to use phonetic spelling in her 2nd year at Intermediate in English exams. Ie if the teacher could see what they meant to spell, it was marked correct. This year at high school, after the class on average didn't pass a maths test, they were given their papers back and given an extra half an hour to correct mistakes, thus bringing the stats up.

My niece just "failed" English. She was most put out when I pointed out that she could use facebook to practice written English rather than using whatever that language is she normally types in.

She got a little pissy with me then I pointed out I was serious and she did a major flounce and marched off.

I pointed out to her retreating back that if she were a little more confident with English we could have had a "discussion". I think that point was lost.

Actually I typed it out normally then went back and removed most of the letters, and abbreviated the whole thing.
So it took about 4 times longer than usual.

But is your niece cute. We need some photos in this forum.......its slowly dying.

Actually I typed it out normally then went back and removed most of the letters, and abbreviated the whole thing.

Easiest just to copy and paste. Only the first and last letter of each word is in the right place:

I cnduo't bvleiee taht I culod aulaclty uesdtannrd waht I was rdnaieg. Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whoutit a pboerlm. Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Aaznmig, huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghhuot slelinpg was ipmorantt! See if yuor fdreins can raed tihs too.

Which is all well and good when the majority of words used are 2 - 5 letters long with only the odd longer word sprinkled in. (That can be inferred from context).

So maybe that is why they can so easily understand this shit? Because their vocabulary is limited to squeals and grunts without a true logophile's penchant for appropriate verbiosity?

However, there is an interesting piece here on typography and word recognition (http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ctfonts/wordrecognition.aspx). I need to sit down and read that tonight.

Well, well. I did wonder what happened with this thing. I originally did the engine fit, headers, airbox and fuel tank fabrication. When he first bought it in it didn't look like too much of a trick to get it all in the frame but there is soooooooooo much other shit you forget about (fuel pump, dry sump gubbins etc)

When it first arrived he wanted to lengthen the wheelbase and wanted a longer swingarm built. I said to him that it didn't make sense to move the rider mass off the drive wheels as traction would be a problem in any case. I fabricated front wishbones. He's saying he's got some US made things but it all looks rather like what I built so who knows?

On the bright side. At least he's still alive.:bye:
