Need some advice from those who know:

Looking at installing an Immobiliser Alarm on my GT250R. So far I've found the Mongoose MCA500 or the 500 RLi by Autowatch. Does anyone have an educated opinion on this?

...Now before you start saying "what you getting an alarm for"? I'm sick of my bike being stolen by local sh1ts, even from the garage.. Want to be able to get out there and beat'em with the ugly stick when they try to touch it!

Also, can anyone recommend a good installer?

Because OMG ..I just went to "Real Alarm Shop" in East Tamaki (89D Springs Road) to get the MCA500 installed. The pimple-faced Chinese biker-wannabe was asking me where the reverse is on my bike, does it have two front brakes and what is a clutch??? He was trying to assure me he knows about bikes and rides them, whilst stalling it for the 3rd time. Had to pry his shaky bony hands off my bike just before he almost ended up underneath it - needless to say I didn't let him touch my bike or install the alarm. LOL

My choices would be:
- Move, obviously crap neighbourhood.
- Lock garage.
- Big padlock and chain, bolt to something big in garage.:woohoo:
- Padlock through brake rotor. You can get ones that make noise.
- Put hyosung badges back on it, this is a real good deterrant.

you could use a limit switch on something that moves when bike moves, wire it to the horn or something louder in ya garage, you'll want a normally closed type.

I got a honneywell one from RS was cheep enough and wired it to an industrial siren.
They'll puke b4 they get a chance to kill the noise:innocent:

Use a disc lock, chain it to a ground anchor. An alarm with engine kill on a bike is not recommended for safety reasons.

Thanks, I did just that - much cheaper than an alarm!
