Don't worry, Katman will be along shortly to say how it could have been avoided and the biker has to accept responsibility... :innocent:
On the news this morning overseas an unlicensed young driver with his father in the passenger seat lost control overtaking a group of cyclists and killed 8 of them!

I dont go down that way too often from Raumati but its hard to imagine how that could happen without someone doing something really stupid? Do you know where?
If hes a local is there anything we can do to help out? He (assuming its a he) must have family etc - they need anything?

I say "appear" as that is what some of those who saw it happen are saying in the comments and replies under the article including a cop.

I kind of know the guy on the bike , he did a brief inspection of my gixxer when i bought it. It really saddens me because his life is ruined, unable to do his job now because of injuries, he was also getting married in feb. My mums friend was behind him when it happened and tended to him untill the medics got there.
Now what really pissed me off was that the driver a young woman supposedly did not even come over to see if he was alright and out of the six youths in the car only ONE came over.
I really do hope the cops fuck the driver over HARD, and ruin their life just as she ruined his.

Sadly an all to common theme way too prevalent here- recidivist drunk/disqualified drivers who continue to be over represented in the fatal crashes. They deserve to be taken off the road or taken out.

I would like to ask everyone taking part in the speculations on this thread to back off a little bit. I won't contribute to the rumour mill, but not all seems to be as is presented here. Suffice to say that a car that hits a motorcyclist as the result of being hit by another car may not always be at fault.

These threads are so predictable. I think we should just start them in advance. Think about it if everyone right now makes their own biker down thread about themselves then they can control the way it goes down and then all of the people who jump all over these threads can be told to gtfo because it's your thread, and you were there man, you were there.

Seems to me that regardless of what happened, we're seeing a theme here...
Car and owner 'well known to police'
Car and group associated with it's owner 'known to locals'
Car 'pink stickered multiple times'
Car 'has plates that don't belong to it'
Motorcyclist totally innocent - wrong place/wrong time.

Good point. The difference is that I went and got the info from a very good source. Someone who is so close to it that they simply must know what happened. When I argued against people speculating I already knew the technical details (which car hit which and which car hit the bike) Then I found out who was driving and who was a passenger in the car that caused this. No speculation here. Facts from someone who saw it happen(a colleague) and from someone, who's role I won't elaborate on.

He was heading to PPM when hit directly in the right leg. He now has two smashed wrists, 2 broken arms, smashed ankle, lower and upper leg, knee cap and right leg amputated above the knee. His career is over and for what, minding his own business. He is in as good spirits as you could be with these horrific injuries. She has shown no remorse for what she has done and seems not to give a shit. When will the courts give these idiots a decent jail term instead of a slap with a wet bus ticket. Nice fantasy and I'm sure one born out of fustration rather than dark desire but it will fold like a wet sack so how about doing something positive?
Does anyone know the victim well? (I believe one poster does) So in that case is there anything the family needs please? Even if its just a visit in hospital? Are there kids? Can I take them out fishing or something to give mum a break? Are they OK for cash?

I never mentioned anything about being a gang, but now that it's been mentioned.
From years of experience I can tell you that what the low lifes of our society definitely do understand is, a bigger stronger enemy then they are.
In my defence ( not that I think I need too, stop it Katman! I did say "imagine "
Nothing else has worked and apart from the obvious for us out here as Paul in NZ has said we can concentrate on the positive and doing something actual and meaningful for the motorcyclist who has been injured here.
So slander away you guys, seems we've got a full house going here, it was a suggestion as to how to deal with one particular person who it seems has done a severe injustice to one of our own.
Be squeamish if you like even put your tongue in your cheek and poke the borax, but believe this, if it was up to me, after the "facts' had been established and as usual the wet bus ticket had been appllied and we'd done our bit for our fellow biker. I'd get the slow rides going for someone who shows no remorse and hides behind their family and "their" connections.
These are my own personal thoughts on this matter and my association with any organisation is simply a matter of coincidence.

Hi Guys
I beleive some people maybe getting a bit carried away with feelings and emotions.
Blair is a very forgiving person, though maybe not so much in this case. He has spoken to the girls step father (apparent ex gang member), who is appalled at the actions of his step daughter. Drive bys would not acheive a great deal, but make bike riders look bad. If people are interested in helping, I will be organising a fundraiser to assist his better half being off work to assist Blair when he comes home from hospital. Details will follow. He is still in good spirits, will keep posted.

Blair had surgery today to take bone from the hip and put it into his wrist to give them something to attach the plate and screws to. Will visit tomorrow and give update.
*Paul, thanks for the message, But system would not let me reply to you as I have not used this forum enough yet. Both Blair and his better half have no children or immediate family in Wellington so she spends all free time at the hospital. Christmas day will be likewise. I have passed onto blair everyones support from this forum and he is amazed with the generosity of strangers ( although bike riders seem to end up one big family). Many thanks to all
