I am getting a lot of negative e-mails back from people saying i might be stepping on another biker group toes, all i can say is what is the problem doing this at this time of the year when the only one benefiting from this are the kids. So all i can say is grow up and come along for the kids.
I could say more but i am not lowering myself to there level.
I also got a reply back from Sarah who is one of the people at the home.
I can confirm the items that we really need are the following...
Shampoo
Conditioner
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Liquid Soap
Hairbrushes
Hair ties
Cheers,
Sarah Barrer
Fundraising Manager
So if you could possibly donate one of these items it would help them out quite a bit.

Hi guys
just to let you all know this event is POSTPONED for now due to finding out about a westcoast miners run leaving from christchurch on the same day, so if i go ahead with what i planned there will not be much of a turnout.
Thanks for your understanding. Will look at the new year to do something for these guys maybe on a bigger scale.

As far as i no sportszone suzuki have something to do with it i think, that is all i no at this stage, it was'nt really advertised that well just heard it thru a mate of mine, si give them a ring and they should be able to tell you more then i can. It should be a good ride thinking about going myself as it is for a good cause.

Miners need a charity run? That's the people who willingly go underground in exchange for wages right? Fuck them, sick kids are waaaay higher up the list.

Other bike shops may have them also, I don't know? See here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/131955-Pike-River-Charity-Ride-18-12-10?p=1129928445#post1129928445) for more details.

so is there any donation "boxes" or somewhere we can just donate some stuff to the kids even if we not going on ride?
i can also do a "pick up run" if anyone else wants to donate some items to the kids and then i can drop them all off together........

Don't forget to fire off flyers to me or Sharon.
Only group I know who support Chum home is Plains, and I can't imagine them being up tight about the kids home being given more support, especially when you're not doing it at the same time as the Sundown or their charity run.
Of course... unless you hear directly from one of their officers, you never know.
