Just got a letter saying that the Coast 2 Coast even is Postponed till 2012! With the world ending in 21 December 2012 that could be that last ride ever
Can someone explain why this ride can't go ahead without sponsorship etc with just an entry fee? Would be sad not to have the ride this year, me and a mate were looking forward to it. :crybaby:

Na, this is the one that goes from (the beach somewhere west of Pukekoe) which ends in the Coromandel. Sorry at work don't have the letter handy.

Ah that's good, was looking forward to having a look at the bikes instead of plastering :)
Sorry to hear about the north run though :(

what's stopping you from riding to Waipu, then across to Coromandel? you could save your entry fee or donate a similar amount to Starship.

Nothing. But whats wrong with the event organisers running it anyway without sponsorship? What major expense do they have preventing them from doing it?
Screw the prizes etc. Surly the entry fee can cover marshells at the control points etc?

They probably have to spend $ making submissions and show planning procedures etc to the relevant council(s). Organizing any decent event is a PITB with stupid regulations etc.
