Coupla pics from this morning's destination - Raglan...
It was better in real life TBH, but as an early morning destination, it has a lot going for it - interesting road over and a wee gem of a place before breakfast.

Stop investing in silly gizmos for the bike and get a decent camera.

Very picturesque but you're supposed to get a pic with your bike in it!

I have one. But it's easier to carry the phone...and anyway, I don't invest in silly gizmos...I waste money on silly gizmos...

I've already used that view as a tag (or one very close to it)...

What time were you in Raglan this morning? I live in Raglan, think I saw you go past my house about 8am. Rode to Hamilton at 10am and got held up, one of the wind farm transporters had crashed.

Nah - not me - I was earlier than that. Blacksand wasn't open yet. I left to come back around 7.20am...
BTW, where did the transporter crash?

Thank you hellokitty...
Do you lick faces like my cat does..? 'cause if...err...um...:ooops:...never mind...coughcough
I also get up early so I can ride - I start work at 11.00am and finish 7 or 7.30 or 8...so it's either ride in the morning or ride in the dark after a day's work. Good early morning ride sets the day up...
Plus old buggers wake early anyway and need less sleep...

At an intersection between Whatawhata and the deviation, think it was Glentui lane. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/4439547/Truck-carrying-wind-turbine-blade-crashes The trailer was on top of the armco when I saw it.

Was it just the transporter or was another vehickimickle involved? That's a bugger anyway that intersection - I have had the odd arse-twanging moment there myself...

You must be really young then.
Or especially dozy...
Anyways, I always wake up around or before 6, but it's too far to the nearest decent road. Back when I lived in the 'tron, I didn't have a decent bike.

Shit, I was serious... my current shitty samsung phone has 5 alarms and I set all of them... I'm 26 so just dozy I guess.

Neither of the above - all in fine working order...
The reality is as I said. If I want to ride (and I do) I have to do it before work, not after. Before I had the bike I used to sleep in until 9.00 am every morning...now I get up to get out on the bike...

Getting up for an early ride would simply have to be the best. I used to train race horses and it's an amazing feeling galloping around a race track just as the sun rises. There's other morning rides that are simply delicious too!! Gotta make the most of life while you're living it! Good on ya.

wicked pictures! i wish I could get up early to go for a ride before I have to go to work! I get up at 540, leave home at 6 to get to work (but I suppose I do ride to work sometimes too....) but riding TOO work isnt the same as a cruisey ride.....

Fixed it for ya...
I already have a video camera...one of those crappy ATC2K things.
It can produce reasonable stuff for YouTube though...IF I get it pointing in the right direction... Last footage was of the road hurtling below underneath the bike...

Well good on ya mate. I am on the bike 6:30 am each morning at the moment to ride to a job... I am a little jealous of you 'cos my morning ride is through Dorkland traffic:(:weep:

I've been through a bit of that from time to time myself. NOT so good...
One of the few benefits of living here is that there are so many interesting rides so close to home - and pretty much accessible without a commute either. I live in the south west corner, almost on the southern boundary, so five minutes up the road is all the twisty hilly stuff...
