I just received the following email regarding a car I have for sale:
Hi, I am Marcus Jordan,I will like to buy your car and i want you to reply me with the last price you are willing to sell it and it's present condition, you will receive the car payment through Bank transfer for secure payment first before any shipment or pick up process, Thanks ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ad I'm responding to is :.............
A quick Google search confirmed my suspicions. How many of you have received similar emails regarding vehicles you are selling?

What kinda car you selling?
And nope I have not seen that email before, it seemed to 'proper' or something when I read it though. Like a template email, something a bit odd about it.

You can obviously rule out Marcus Jordan as a Hitcher alias.....

I had 2 emails from 2 different scammers from a T&E ad for a car - the story was "I work overseas on a oil rig, want the car, pay through paypal, click on this link to get the money through paypal" blah blah.
Annoying as they fill your inbox full of crap, luckily I ignored them and certainly didn't click on any link sent to me.

Ive had a few of those through a car I had listed on sella.co.nz. I was suspicious as soon as they said they wanted to pay by bank xfer - I used to work at a bank and have seen what can go wrong with "secure transfers" - only accept cash!!!

Had heaps.
The best ones I have had were
".....I would like to purchase you 2001 Yamaha FZ1 car, for my family....."
"....I am willing to pay twice what you are asking if you can please ship to my address...."
"......God Bless, The lord wants me to give my money to you in exchange for your vehicle, I will pay you US$50,000 for your car......" (car was listed for NZ$1400)

You're doing it all wrong. String them along with long drawn out responses from a dummy email account set up just for this purpose. I got about 30 emails out of one before they gave up! Just copy and paste random stuff unrelated back to them but leave a slight detail of your auction in the email.
I did it all at work so it's not like I wasted any of my own time.
Creating a bit of karma for the fuckers.

I'm on an offshore oilrig but would like to buy your car. However much you're asking for it, I'd like to pay $1000 more. I can only pay via paypal though....:shit:
Also, while you're there, can you please help me get $18m out of Nigeria? I just need you to give me $200 for legal fees

I pretended that I don't know it's a scammer so I asked them to make a reasonable offer on the car. I'll see how long I can keep this going for.
