6M vs 6L

Quick survey, if you are of the "riding a 50cc on a car license" persusion, will you be getting a 6M or a 6L when the license changes happen?

I personally think I'll get a 6L, which leads me to my next question. What's the biggest engine you can fit into a Jog frame? :innocent::facepalm: Ha!

Yes, the requirement to hold a 6M licence will also apply to people who are currently allowed to ride a moped due to holding a Class 1 (car) licence. At present, any person who holds any level of car licence can legally ride a moped, even if they have never ridden a moped or motorcycle. There is no assurance that these people have the necessary skills to safely ride a moped on the road. This means that moped riders who do not hold a motorcycle licence will have to gain a 6M licence as well.

There will be a transitional period of three years, by which time all moped riders will have to hold a 6M licence, or a motorcycle licence, in order to legally ride a moped. Moped owners will receive a reminder of the new requirement when they receive their (moped) vehicle licence renewal reminder letter.

Go for the 6L is almost the same thing. Today's scooters courses are the same as the bhs for 6l.
If they go for the vic learner approved motorcycles instead of 250cc max then anything scooterish under 660cc is ok. Probably help scooter sales if a learner can go into a burger 400 or a honda 600 in just one step.

The yamaha 100cc fits into a jog frame I think its a 1E50QMF

That's my thinking too Spearfish, might be nice to step up to something like that. I love the commuting convenience of a scoot and being able to use the motorway will be a huge plus.
I do like the look of something like the new SYM Voyager GTS 250/300 (http://www.sym.com.tw/eng/showroom/index.php?tid=1&mode=brand&bid=53) so a 6L is definitely the way to go. A kitted out 100cc Jog would make a hell of a sleeper though wouldn't it

The BHS training and the test is easy, usually small classes (1 or2) in a local carpark (behind club physical on Te Atatu road). They supply the bike and a few hours of slow riding and its all over. Theory at westgate AA on a computer and all sorted.
I don't know your riding history but you could find it slightly harder doing the slow pass on the bike rather than your jog, the weight is much higher.

I know a few with the sym, all seem happy with them and would buy another.
Most ride long distances two up.
The only down side is the oil/filter change interval is only 3000k's, but easy enough to do at home.
