I know there's a ton of material on insurance however was wondering if there is one specific to a make of a bike where they offer the best rates even if you have claimed in the past. For example, if I owned a Kawasaki or Honda, who would I go with? Appreciate it if you guys can include links to the appropriate websites.

Kiwibike insurance brokers. www.kiwibike.co.nz

These folks are dedicated bikers and will find you the best deal possible. I was getting ripped off until I found these guys. I dealt with Donna Hewer. Very pleasant and easy to deal with.

Cool. Will check them out. Who were you with before? Are these guys affiliated with Star Insurance? Think they also go by a few another names e.g. John Baker, etc.

They got me a deal with Swann insurance.... which I think is a subsidiary of IAG or something or other.

up until then I had done my own research and thought I was getting a good deal with AMI ! hahahahaha.... not at all. I was paying about 20% more with AMI

kiwibiker take the headache out of it all so you can just enjoy your ride with peace of mind. (crikey I sound like an advery for them)

I just paid my second installment for a years worth of full cover insurance on my Suzuki 650. $600.

AMI were the cheapest for me as I had had a scooter insured with them before so I was given a no claims bonus.

Kiwibike had given me a pretty average quote. AMI and NAC were cheaper for me. Under 25, on my learners.

Is Protecta provider or type of plan?

it's an insurance company. get as many quotes as you can from everywhere and be as specific as you can. email quotes are not great unless they give you a chance to be very specific

Thanks. Is there one provider that has special rates if you own a Kawasaki or Honda?

No idea mate, I would guess not but I know shit all about these things. Ring your local Kawa or Honda dealer and they might know.

The fuckers want some daft prices now. It's not even worth bothering with insurance any more.

Also try vero. They are an insurance company and I found them to be the cheapest for my bike by far. I think Classic cover (brokers) deal with them. Really like the fact that I can pay it off and there is no penalty for doing so.
